Car pulls hard over small bumps *help*

I've noticed latley that while riding over somewhat rough roads, most of the time its just small imperfections in the road, my car will pull hard, usually to the right. Ive had a alignment in the past 6 months so I doubt it has anything to do with that. The wheel will try to pull me sometimes side to side but usally just towards the direction the road is sloped. Im assuming it has something to do with my suspension, can someone tell me the specific parts that might be causing this?

Well, I'll start with the obvious. How big are your wheels? I know that the larger 17s with 275s tend to follow the road more. I know keeping mine straight is a full time job whenever there are ruts in the road.

True.

Check tire pressure as well.

Possibly you have a worn tie rod end that causes one wheel to shift under bumps. Jack it up, crawl under the front (jack stands of course!) and have someone turn the wheel back and forth while you inspect the steering system.

Thanks, I have stock 16's with fusion 245 / 50 I believe...cant remember now but im pretty sure thats it, maybe 245 / 45. Havn't checked pressure latly though. My car seems to float a little more when taking turns somewhat fast. It used to hug the ground and turn now it feels like the car leans real bad and when the road dips feels like my car is floating in stead of just hitting a bump.

this may sound stupid but it happened to of twice, and both times were after a shop had touched it. check your front sway bar. somehow my endlink had come apart and fell away. i had a lot of the same symptoms you do.

I agree with the first post. It is almost 95% of the time the tire. Mine pulls hard in ruts and small bumps too, especially at stop lights where the road has been rippled from everyone coming to a screaching halt. Nothing to worry about in my book, but does not hurt to check the sway bar and rod ends like others said.

The SS cars or cars with wide tires are extremely suseptable to following every rut or bump in the road. It's verry important to ensure the F/E parts are in good shape. Just a little bit of play in a tie rod or ball joint will make the car a handfull to drive. When I had an allignment done on my car I insisted that all specs be dead on and not just close. It made a big difference in the way the car drove, but it still follows rut and lines in the road to some degree.
