Can't get rear shock out
Can't get rear shock out
The top mount is old and rusty, i've tried putting everything i can on top of it to keep the shaft from spinning, but still can't hold it in place. any suggestions??
You could grind some flats on the sides of bolt/shaft and use an open end wrench to hold the shaft while loosening the nut after a good soak of penatrating solution. Or you could break out the recipricating saw and hack it off
. Get more crafty?
That is assuming your replacing the shocks I guesss you did not say. Then it would not matter.

we used a crescent wrench... but if yours is corroded I'm not too sure what you'd do.
wait do you mean the shock in the strut by any chance? I can't imagine the rears getting rusty. If this is the case we did something dangerous and cut the top bolt off with a dremel. make sure your spring compressor is fully compressed if this is the case.
*edit: I'm really stupid i had forgotten to notice the topic line... oh well, previous knowledge still holds true.
