Camber Adjustment / Alignment Tool

I have a 94 Camaro that has seriously cupped the heck out of the right front tire on the inside, about two inches inward. My son's auto shop teacher said these cars require a special GM tool to adjust the camber. Does this sound correct? Can anyone tell me what the tool is? I may just be better off taking it to a pro shop and be done with it. I was trying to save a few bucks. Thanks!

Its a hook with a long bolt. Its like in the size of a U.

I___________I

In the Middle it have the bolt that pulls the 2 ends together.
One of the ends go in the lower A-Arm and the other one is on the K-Member. That helps you pull and push the arm in and out.

I would look over the suspension components before investing in an alignment. If the cars got miles on it you could be due for ball joints, bushings and tie rod ends. Also the stock shocks aren't know for longevity.

Yeah the tool is about $90 regardless of the manufacturer(I looked around before I bought mine). Unless you have regular access to an alignment rack your probably better off letting a shop do it.

Heres the tool if your wandering what it looks like:

i have done a few camber adjustments without this tool by using prybars. it can be done but its a lot easier using the tool. unless you have access to a alignment rack to do it for yourself don't buy the tool. Dealerships and many aftermarket shops have them, so they can do it for you.

Like OBE1 95Z28 said, check alll bushings, especially the A-arm bushings and ball joints before aligning the car. On mine with 120k miles, I was able to pull the metal piece out of the lower back A-arm bushing . With worn bushings and ball joints, alignments are useless because as soon as your going down the road the alignment will go off because of excessive play in the suspension.
