LS1 (fbody) rotors are 12" even. C5 rotors are a hair over 12.75"

Just the brackets are $240 from UMI http://www.umiperformance.com/2120.aspx
You dont need the calipers, but if you want them the set is $720 http://www.umiperformance.com/2120A1.aspx

Re: c5 brake conversion?

well, what is the point of doing the brackets if your not going to go with the calipers?

do the brackets keep the calipers in their stock location?

There’s no difference in clamping force between the calipers, you wont notice anything unless your driving is very hard (racing). The C5 caliper is pressure cast so it flexes less and its supposed to last longer. The purpose of the brackets is to move the caliper outwards to accommodate for the larger rotor.

But do the c5 calipers hold a bigger pad?

If the caliper is pretty much the same, I may go with the bigger rotor set up.

Yes, they hold a bigger pad and opens you up to more pad choices than the LS1 capiler.

Re: c5 brake conversion?

but are the calipers themselves alot bigger? keep in mind...im really going for looks too. or should i just get the entire kit with calipers and all?

Is it worth spending the 250 to do this to just change rotors. what should i do with my stock sized Eradi Speed's? they only have 4500 miles on them.

would my old LS1 setup be worth somethign with new pads/rotors/painted calipers?
