Brakes not working

Hey guys, I just went in to change my girlfriend's brakes on her 2001 Camaro and noticed a few issues. First of all, one of the slider pins on the caliper mounting bracket for the front right was siezed, so I'm replacing the mounting bracket, slider pins and seals for that side. I also bled the brakes and got a lot of air out of there. The big issue I have is that when chaning them I noticed that the rears pads were worn down to metal, literally. I replaced all 4 brake rotors and pads. When changing the front pads, there was still over 80% of the pad left. Last time the brakes were changed was when she bought the car used and they were changed by the dealership. So there is no way the rears should be that worn and have that much pad left up front. What would cause the front brakes to essentially not be used? I never felt like her car stopped right compared to my 2002 Camaro. What can I look at to fix this issue? Again, here it is in a nutshell:

1. Front brakes pads had 80% pad left while rears were worn down to metal.
2. All 4 pads were changed at the same time last time.
3. Neither set of front pad seemed like it had been used much, so all the braking work is being done by the rears.

Were there any TSB's or is there a part that could cause this issue? The brake pedal moves almost all the way to the floor and the brakes don't start grabbing until you're about half way down and they never grab hard. If you're going 10-15 miles an hour and slam hard on the brakes (to the floor) it will coast to a stop in about 10 feet. May as well put your foot on the ground to try to stop it. Any help is GREATLY appreciated. Thanks.

The frozen slider pin as well as the air in the syetem could easily effect pad wear. It sounds like you found all the probelms. Does it feel better after you fixed it?

Re: Brakes not working

It took forever for all of the parts to come in, but the car feels better. Had to bleed the brakes, replace the caliper mounting bracket and slider pins, all 4 pads and rotors and the master cylinder. After all that was done, it felt better! lol! So basically it ended up being a rip and replace ordeal. Cost about $600 for everything after it was all said and done. oh well. Works now!
