Brakes need help

My brakes work fine, but they don't have the sensitivity a four wheel disk system should have. I don't have to stand on the brakes to slow down but other 4 disk cars I've driven don't take this much effort. I put new pads on the front about 8K ago and the backs have a lot left on them and the rotors are good.

Re: Brakes need help

sometimes cheap pads get glazed and don't create the friction as well as quality pads

Re: Brakes need help

It's a 95, and I installed AutoZone mid grade pads. I thought I might put new fluid in it. Booster is working good. Is it possible to have an air lock in the system that would make me have a hard pedal?

Re: Brakes need help

I think you are refering to just the way the car is. 4th gen bakes are horrible, everyone knows it. That's just the way the cars are. Could always get LS1 brakes though, they're two inches bigger.

Air would cause a spongy pedal
