brakes
i changed the rear calipers last night and after i bleeded the system and had the right fluid level i started the car. As soon as it fired up i noticed the e-brake light was on, however, even though its not engaged. also my brake pedal goes almost all the way to the floor making a "whoosh" sound, however, the brakes fully catch. I ended up bleeding the brakes again, and even after that the same issues occur. Any suggestions?
Re: brakes
To change the rear calipers means you had to disconnect the parking brake mounting bracket and reconnect it to the new caliper. Make sure everything is on there including the spring and balancer or else your parking brake light will still be on. If your brake pedal goes all the way to the floor, it's usually caused by a leak in the braking system. When it feels spongy, there's air in the system. Hope this helps.
Re: brakes
Did you bleed the entire system, starting with the ABS unit?
The "BRAKE" light comes on if there is unequal pressure between the front and rear braking systems. If that light comes on, sometimes the switch (in the block on the side of the ABS unit, where the two lines from the master cylinder connect) will "stick", keeping the light on, even after to correct the problem. The cure is a hard stop with the brakes. But the fact that your pedal goes almost all the way to the floor would indicate you still have a problem with air in the system.
