Brake rotor differences

I just did a check on replacement rotors for a 94 TA. Here are the results.

GM parts direct.
Fronts $44.74 each
Rears $121.09 each
Manufacturer unknown

Tire rack
Fronts $53 each
Rears $93 each
Brembo

O'Reilly
Fronts $46.99 each
Rears $70.99 each
Wagner

Autozone
Fronts $29.99 each
Rears $15.99 each
Duralast

Fronts $16.99 each
Rears $13.99 each
Valucraft

Does anyone have any experience with any of these rotors? Is there really a difference between these rotors other than the prices? Is it possible that they all are Brembo blank rotors but repackaged or ???

Re: Brake rotor differences

The only real difference will be with the cheaper rotors. They are usually made of cheaper metals and are less resistant to warping. If you drive the car like your average passenger car. The cheap ones will be fine. If you are an aggressive driver and beleive that brakes are a last resort only to be used whan shear power can't get you out of trouble, go with the better ones.

I run Power Slot rotors and abuse my brakes with in an inch of their lives. No Problems

I put the Autozone's on mine about 6 mos. ago. & they stop perfectly. I drive fairly aggressive, too. Lots of short stops.

Re: Brake rotor differences

I've been told the difference is from the metal used. American metal vs. foreign. Most of the part stores will tell you what they carry and what kind of warranty they have.

NAPA told me they gave a lifetime warranty for warping, I paid ~$60 each for mine.

I didn't get that in depth with the warranty, I imagine I would trade the warped rotors in like anything else. Supposed to be lifetime but I did take his word. How do I know they are made woth American metal? I don't I guess.
