Brake Replacement Options

I'm looking for new brakes for my 95 Z. I'm doing rotors and pads all around. I'm having issues deciding what brand/model I want to go with. I don't travk or do autocross, just a lot of spirited road driving. My dad found these, and they seem pretty good, especially for the price. They are made by Powerstop.

Front Rear Kit 4 Performance Drilled Slotted Brake Rotors and 8 Ceramic Pads | eBay

He has a C5 Z06 and looked around on their forum, and the C5 guys seem to like them. Has anybody here used these? Or does anybody have a good suggestion for me? Thanks.

They seem like a good deal and free shipping, too. But they do get mixed reviews, so read up before you buy them.

I agree with Kevin. They are a smokin' deal, but I don't know on the reviews. FWIW, anytime you go with a drilled rotor, they will end up cracking on you, and the drilled part of it will do absolutely nothing to help you stop. It really is for appearance only. Slotting will help, and honestly the biggest thing is just going with a rotor that is made of good steel and a lot of mass. As far as pads, ceramic is good, but can be noisy.

Re: Brake Replacement Options

The best route is converting to 98-2002 LS1 brakes. There is also a conversion kit to put on C5 brakes but it is more expensive.

I have not converted a car in years, but back in the late 90's the front knuckle, rotor, caliper and pads could be had from a low mileage 98-2002 for $250 from a wrecking yard. Some minor cutting on the later spindle was necessary but nothing a sawzall couldn't do. I never saw a reason to upgrade the rears although I do think my original 93 may have been converted at both ends.

At any rate they are much better brakes.
