Bilstein HDs are not designed to work with lowering springs.

Need to know what you want to accomplish...drag racing or corner carving. Hal (QA1) is drag racing, Bilsteins are for handling. I've got Eibach's with revalved Bilsteins in the front and 3rd Gen Bilstein HDs in the back and like the handling. Sam Stano helped me choose my setup. He's very helpful and knows his F-Bodies. Get in touch with him at stranoparts.com.

Sam Strano has revalved Bilsteins for the prokit... that's the setup I've had for 4 years or so and they've performed quite well.

From what others have said, the Hals and the Prokit do not mate well together and makes for a very choppy ride.

Been there, done that; definitely a choppy ride!

Yep.... with the QA1/Pro-Kit combo, the back end chops up and down like a slammed S10 riding on the axle.

The QA1's are for drag strip use........ period.

I have Bilstein HDs with my Pro-Kit and they seem to be doing good even with 25k on them. The ride isn't bad at all and seems to handle pretty well. What difference would I find if I changed out them out for revalved pieces?

Better handling, and probably a better ride as well. Sam Strano could be alot more specific. As far as Bilstein HDs... I'm not saying my opinion on what springs they work with, just what Bilstein actually says in their literature.

Maybe the normal HDs aren't optimal, but they do work. I have them with my Hotchkis springs and they have done well for years. Handling is very good. Perhaps ride quality would improve with revalved HDs.

I have the HD/Hotchkis combo too. The front seems ok but the back could stand to have less compression and more rebound. With the stiffer Eibach springs I can only imagine it's worse.

MMM.... it was a while ago, give Strano a call, they will lay it all out for you. I seem to remember coughing up about 600 bucks, but I could be thinking about something else (or maybe that was for both shocks and springs).
