Just take them to the car wash and spray them with brake dust cleaner then hose them off. You don't really need to do anything special to them before painting.

I assume your just going to spray paint them...If so rustoleum is the only way to go, for the paint and clear coat. Just remember take your time and do many thin coats and it will come out perfect every time. Mike

ps before you start painting make sure and clean the calipers off with an alcohol based cleaner to get rid of oil from your fingers!

That MAY work but to be on the safe side I would soak them in either Brake Part Cleaner or Simple Green. Probably the brake part cleaner would be best to use. also for painting I would use High Temp paint. I use Dupli-Color High Temp on many things. I think I am going to powder coat my calipers in red to match the Bright Rally Red.

brake cleaner+ rag
scuff with wire brush
brake cleaner again.

should take 5 minutes per caliper...
it's a good idea to make sure they're clean, can't hurt.

for paint, go HERE G2

works great.

I don't believe you should be posting a site that isn't a sponsor. If it was just an informational site it would be ok but its a site where you can buy things. I would suggest PMing that to him and take the link down.

The G2 kit worked great for me, quick and easy, and looks awesome. i gave him a link to their site so that he may check it out and get his "information" there, for himself.

that's not advertising, it's a friendly referral.

if you'd like to complain about my friendly referral further, please forward this thread to the forum moderator "KWKSLVR"

Have a good day.

I understand where you're coming from, but that would be like saying you couldn't post a link to Summit Racing or Jegs or something because they don't pay to advertise here.

I'd like to paint my rear calipers, as I have Z06 stuff up front and I'd like them to match. Thanks for the info, guys.

that would look nice if you painted your rear calipers to match. i am guessing that the z06 calipers up front are red? red shouldn't be too hard to match up at all.
