Best F-body Shocks

My shocks are shot. So I am looking at getting new ones tonight. So what are the best ones for the price?

Re: Best F-body Shocks

We don't have any struts on our cars, only shocks.

If you are looking for a good improvement, and are keeping stock springs, the Bilstein HD shocks are great. A set of 4 will cost around $325.

If you want to go very high end, look at Koni single adjustables.

You can call Sam at www.stranoparts.com and he'll be great to talk to. He helped me out a lot and I couldn't be happier.

They will work, but I'm not sure if it's optimum or not. The drag launch springs are pretty soft from what I understand, and the Bilsteins in the rear are somewhat soft too, so they might match up well.

Best person to ask is Sam Strano at the link provided above.

Re: Best F-body Shocks

Yeah, that is what i ment. As for spings my friend has a pair of lowering spings i plan on gettin. Not sure on the spring rate. but they will drop the car 1.6". So will they work good w/ that kind of setup. I want it to hook up and limit the amount of wheel hoop. But still be a great all around ride at the same time.

P.S. If I had to pick though i would lean towards being able to launch harder.

Re: Best F-body Shocks

If you want to launch hard, lowering springs is the last thing you want, and stiff lowering springs (which most are) is even worse. It prevents weight transer to the rear.

If you lower the car and want to launch good, you should get loewr control arm relocation brackets.

If you want to launch good, stay with your stock springs.
