another lca relocation bracket question

when you install the bolt-in brackets, what are the little tabs for?

do you mount the shocks there, or to the stock location on the axle?

some relocation brackets have them, and some don't.

so i am wondering;

what are they for???

Re: another lca relocation bracket question

thoes are what prevent the brackets from rotating.

they go on the mounting bracket for the lower shock mount.

i edited this pic from my brackets, you can see where the tab is. it prevents the bracket from pivoting back or forward under load (big arrow). other wise the only mounting hole would be the upper bolt. the tab kindda triangulates it.

Do these relocation bracket's make a differance or are you better off with an adjustable torque arm? Or should both be used together to get the best instant center?

Re: another lca relocation bracket question

The only effect of the torque arm's adjustablility is on pinion angle.

Re: another lca relocation bracket question

i think the brackets make a bigger improvement on the rear suspension.

but i am by no means an expert.

all i know is that my car squats and grips with zero wheel hop and good traction, and i'm on stock TA.

Re: another lca relocation bracket question

What is not a "must"? Relo brackets or an adjustable TA?

The LCA relo brackets are, based on my experience, one of the best things you can do for straight line traction. They increase the lift on the body, and increase the down force on the tires.

Re: another lca relocation bracket question

the bolt in relocation bracket is located by that tab that is sandwiched by the shock

what about the weld in relocation brackets, how are they located

Re: another lca relocation bracket question

the weld in ones are located according to the bolt holes and the LCA i think...then obviously held in place with welds. no need to "triangulate" them.
