ABS light after rearend swap????

I have an ABS light on in my car now not sure what to look for....I have a 94 TA I put a 2002 rear end in from a SS. I changed gears went from 3.73's in the old rearend to 4.11's in the new one...would that cause the ABS light to come on, the gear change??????

Also if you are looking at the rear from the back what it the little thingy on the front of the housing looks like a sensor it on the top right hand side above the drain plug... I don't remember it having anything hooked up to it.....I had help so they might have disconnected or something ....Is this supposed to go to anything????

2002 is four channel ABS and you have 3 channel. That's why you have an ABS light.

To add....The car the rearend came from had No traction control, and it was also an Automatic car.....When I got the rear it had a cap where the sensor on the top left goes I just removed the cap and installed my sensor there....That should be correct I would assume....

That sensor that isn't hooked up is the sensor for your ABS.

That makes no sense.

Re: ABS light after rearend swap????

The sensor that I have plugged in is on the top left looking at it from the rear, it goes down into the rear, It is held in with a 10 MM bolt. It goes down and I am guessing senses the teeth on the gear that is bolted to the ring gear.here is also another sensor looking thing on the other side of the housing I have no clue what it is......

Well if there is two sensors then that rear must be setup for traction control i think, unless LS1 rears have a different extra sensor on them.

Re: ABS light after rearend swap????

Are you sure the "sensor thing" on the right isn't the vent cap?

If the rear had a cap on the sensor hole, is it possible that there is no reluctor gear attached to the carrier? If the hole was plugged, I'd bet the car it came out of had TCS at one point in its life.
