ABS INOP light

It comes on when I start the car and stays on full time. I just got done installing my NX kit, and can't think of any reason why it would be on. I used the cigarette lighter fuse for the bottle heater relay, wiper fuse for the heater switch, and radio fuse for the arming switch. Not sure if any of this would effect it...

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,
Matt

Just thinking...would a loose relay trigger the light to come on?

Hey...I had this damn light on and couldnt figure out what it was...

My tailight bulb was blown..both of them and this actually causes the abs inop

Re: ABS INOP light

I was getting the same light, and my ABS would act up and kick the brakes on and off while coming to a normal slow stop.. Not very fun when your stopping at a light at a busy intersection, and then the pedal feels weird and you stop slowing down for a sec or so.. I got sick of it, and since I learned how to drive in third gens without ABS, I decided to just pull the ABS relay.. Light is on all the time now, but no big deal, at least I can stop normally.

Funny thing though, when I dropped my K-member, I noticed that something had melted the plug for the right front ABS sensor harness. Im guessing that was what was causing all the funky issues.. I will be fixing this before the motor goes back in, so it looks like I will have abs once again!

Hope at least some of this nonsense helped you out.

Re: ABS INOP light

If the third brake light is the cause, the cruise control doesn't work either.

Taillights/brake lights are fine. Any other ideas?

If I get it scanned, will the PCM tell me why the light is on?
