abs delete question

im about to delete the abs on my 95 z. i have 2 questions. the rear brake line out of the master is 3/16 but after it goes through the abs module it is 1/4 going back to the rear wheels. im thinking of going 1/4 from the master connecting to the rear or should i stay with 3/16 and couple it to the 1/4 going to the rear?. my second question is for the fronts. i have a 3/16 line from the master into the abs module and 2 - 3/16 lines coming out going to each wheel. i was thinking of going 1/4 out of the master to a tee and then go to 2 - 3/16 for each wheel. any advice would be welcome

Re: abs delete question

Yes, I did the abs delete on a 97. The rear has a metric size brake line on the 97. I purchased 1/4 from the auto parts store and assembled my own. I used a brake bias manual valve on the rear for adjustment. One 1/4 inch line from the MC to the rear splits to each rear wheel.

Also made some brackets. Tough getting the line(s), fitting loose from the MC.

Removed the EBCM and anti-loc valve unit. I needed additional space for a blower up front.
I had to ground the light-Green wire @ the EBCM to ground to fix the IP lite (always Off). I also upgraded to front Corvette brakes by Kore_3. So far (5 years) working good. Stops much better. Hope this helps. B.

Re: abs delete question

thanks for the info. did you use a 1/4 line for the front also - then split to 2 - 3/16 to each front wheel? i also had a hard time loosening the lines on the master even after soaking them for days -- had to use a vice grip , the metric flair wrench would not do it.

Re: abs delete question

I also used vise-grip to break loose the MC fittings. Very difficult.

Used some of the stock line and fittings to plumb to the rear brake bias valve from the MC. I run the bias valve wide open with the Kore_3 front brakes. I guess I didn't really need the bias valve.

I re-used the stock front brake lines. Did some re_route due to use of UMI K-member. Except, new flex lines with Kore_3 corvette brakes. Much better binders than 4th gen stock.

I had to make a bracket for the rear axle brake line split to rt-left side. It hangs of the Moser diff flange (no drill but pinch the diff flange). B.
