My front rotors were warped so I put new ones on and left the old (70%) pads on, Both rotors seemed to have way to much resistance, I drove the car 3 miles and the rotors were extremely hot. I measured the new rotors and double checked the part numbers and they are the correct diameter, thickness and part number.

Both Front rotors feel like they are kinda stuck (they will turn with about 30 lbs of pressure) but there is no way both calipers would get stuck at the same time. I put the old rotors back on and the wheel turns fine without hardly any restriction.

What am I doing wrong? The rotors had too much restriction and got very very hot.

Grease the caliper pins. I would have used new pads w/ new rotors.

 

Your old pads formed to the old rotors... Old rotors, new pads is OK, but not the other way around...

I have never had a problem replacing or machining rotors while keeping the same pads. Did you clean the rotor after you took it out of the box? They put a coating on it that's intended to prevent it from rusting. If you install them without first removing the coating it can cause some issues, possibly like your describing. If you didn't clean the rotors i would remove them and clean it up with some brake clean. Then use some sand paper, maybe 100 grit or so, and scuff up the rotor surface. Also sand the pads down just a bit against a flat surface to get the glaze off them. Then reinstall making sure to lubricate the slides with the appropriate grease.
