97 Z has low speed shimmy at 35-50mph
97 Z28 27,000 miles. New tires - shimmy was considerably worse on the old OHTSU tires. Starts at about 35-40 mph and about 50-55 it smooths out, just that low mid speed range it's like there's a quiver in the wheel. Now have Falken all season from Discount Tire and the manager was aware of my problem and gave special attention to correct balance.
I had the old tires balanced by a trusted mechanic and he said front end was good on a cursory inspection. The shimmy was better after the old tires were balanced but still not right. The car sat on the showroom for 7 months and had between 15-20 psi in tires when I got it. Bound to be flat spots I figured. Car does not pull, let go of wheel and it stays center. I know a good alignment guy - I really don't think that's it, but it could be.
Get speed up to 60 and it smooths out, 75 is fastest I've had it and it's straight and true. Suggestions on my next move are welcomed. Thanks
