which manufacturer did you go with?
what material, mild steel or chromoly?
did you have it jig notched?

what are your opinions on the one you have in your car?
i dont care about back seat room, as i dont have a back seat anymore so the one i will be getting will be going over the rear seat, not through the rear speaker grills

Re: 6 and 8 point roll bar people...inside please

I have a Wolfe 5pt bolt in. It's powder coated and has door bar swing outs on the one side. There are some pictures of all aspects of it in my sig. under interior. It is bolt in, so I didn't have to worry about jig notching and it is mild steel.

I am very happy with it. When I look at the car...I often think that it should have come with the bar installed from the factory because it looks awesome. Getting in isn't bad with the lowslung door bar (or I can just unlatch it). I'm not a huge person though...so it's relative.

I went with the 5pt because it is all that is required to run tens. The passenger bar is not required until you hit the cage level, so I opted to save the 10+ pounds. Girls also don't like getting in over roll bars in skirts.

If you plan on running 9s or faster than 135, I recomend you just do it right the first time and buy a cage/something that is legal. I might soon have the problem of outruning my roll bar in terms of times.

I have one, but it was custom made, chrome moly..... so it wouldn't help much if I told you about it. I can give you a link to some pictures if you want.

Chrome moly will save you at least 1/3 on the weight. That's a significant savings with a roll bar.

thanks for the info/pics Sean and Fred
do you guys use subframe connectors with yours?

does anyone else use a Wolfe chrome moly (or mild steel) jig notched 6 point weld in bar? hell, or even a Jegster bar?

i'm looking for minimum weight, maximum safety and stiffness while being legal for 10's

The guy that built my bar also installed chrome moly SFC's.

Wolfe Racecraft 6-point bolt-in. Mild Steel.

I bought mine before the Chrome Moly version was available. Trust me, go Chrome Moly.....my cage is HEAVY. It's powdercoated black.

If doing it over, I would have gotten a 5 point w/ swingout in Chrome Moly. Not sure if I would go w/ weld in or not second time around.....probably would.

thanks for the info fellas
i think it'll be a 6 point weld chrome moly jig notched roll bar with some tubular SFC's (i've got a friend that will tig all of it on the cheap)

with a rollbar, and racing, do you have too have the seatbelt brackets on the bar that crosses the main hoop?
