Hey guys, to start off our advertising here on CZ28, we've decided to do a cylinder head & valvetrain group purchase. This is a pretty big one, so please excuse how long this post will have to be


Regarding cylinder heads it'll be pretty simple, this will be a stepped GP - the more orders we get in it, the more of a discount everyone gets. For 5-10 orders, we'll knock 10% off. For 10-15 orders, we'll knock 15% off, and for 15+ orders we'll take 20% off the price of a complete set of cylinder heads. Purchasers do not have to be members of CamaroZ28.com to get this discount, so crossposting & letting friends know may add that one order that gets you an additional discount.

For our customers we offer complete valvetrain kits on our website as well. Currently those prices are already below what you'd ordinarily pay at any other site. For this GP, if a valvetrain kit is purchased in addition to any of our cylinder head packages, you'll receive an additional discount on the valvetrain kit. If there's a part you want to include or remove from any kit, just email us for an individual quote (at the same approximate discount rate) on exactly what you need. Typically these kits include lifters, pushrods, guideplates, studs, and rockers. Check out our LT1 Products Page for an exact breakdown on what is in each kit.


The LT1/LT4 kits (added to a cylinder head purchase) will be priced as follows:

Standard HR High-Perf kit: $605
Extreme HR Kit: $725
Standard Solid Roller Kit: $865
Extreme SR Kit: $1115


Camshafts:
Normal Comp grinds with cylinder head purchase will be $235
Ai Customs will be $275
One-off grinds will be $395



This GP will also include AFR's offerings!

Any AFR cylinder head purchase, whether it's their porting or ours, will be counted towards the # of orders towards a greater discount! Our AFR packages will receive the same discount as our LT1/LT4/LS1 packages will up to 15% off. For packages with heads that are ported by AFR, please email us for a price quote, these prices cannot be posted publically! Currently we only have three sets of AFR's in stock, and there is an approximate 10week wait for new castings. There will be no minimum AFR head order to receive our discounts.


Great, but whats the bottom line?!

Here are a few examples of what you'll save by getting in on this group purchase. Keep in mind that it is not a requirement that you purchase one of our valvetrain kits to receive the discount on our cylinder head packages!

Econoport LTx Head Package:
$1395 @ 15% off: $1185.75
FullPort LTx Head Package:
$1795 @ 15% off: $1525.75

Econoport Head Package + Comp Cams Camshaft + Standard HR valvetrain kit:
10% off heads = $2095.50
15% off heads = $2025.75
20% off heads = $1956

Full Port Head Package + Comp Cams Camshaft + Standard HR Valvetrain Kit:
10% off heads = $2455.50
15% off heads = $2365.75
20% off heads = $2276

If the order number reaches 15, then one could save over $400 on a complete topend package, or get a 380+rwhp EconoPort package with all of the necessary valvetrain components for under $2000.


Payment terms will be as follows:
50% of the Cylinder Head price up front (not 50% of heads+cam+valvetrain kit), and then when your order is about to ship, we'll send you an invoice for the balance. The work will be handled First come, First served, so if you want something in the very near future, let us know. We're pretty excited about our new facility, including our new computerized Superflow SF-600 flowbench that's replacing our older manual SF-600, and turnaround time should be pretty short - we'll be shipping 2-3sets of heads per week. On the other hand, if $ is a little tight right now, let us know and we will set your heads aside and complete them when you are ready, up to 90days from the order date provided we receive your initial payment by April 1st, 2004!

This GP will continue on until April 1st, or we reach 25 orders - whichever comes first. Beginning March 15 we will allocate all of our time towards our CamaroZ28 customers who get in on this group purchase to get them their product as quickly as possible.

Just wanting to make sure I didn't miss it. Their isn't a core charge for the heads is their?

 

Actually, the products pages on the site lists core information. Basically there IS a core charge unless you buy a new casting & we always recommend that you send in your own cores to be worked on in order to simplify things.

For the guys who don't want to have their car torn apart for awhile, we can actually schedule the time to do that set of heads so that one wouldn't have to buy an extra set of heads or our cores. We'd get the initial payment to get in on the GP, then schedule a time that'd be best for you to do your swap. Ship the heads to us, we'll turn them around within a week, and you can bolt everything back together .

Sorry if there was any confusion, you'd think that with a post as long as that one I would have covered most potential questions.

So on your web site your Econo-Port LT1 Cylinder Head Package is $1395 - whatever discount you come up with right?
What kind of results would you expect out of these with a 218/224 xe 112lca with an automatic?

 

Alright guys, I think everyone has gotten a response thus far (as of 11pm EST anyhow). Thanks very much for all your interest & for the kind words from a few of you . The response has been pretty good thus far, and I think this GP will end up going pretty well for everyone.

 

Phil, does the % discount reflect the # of orders recieved at the end of the GP? Or the # of orders placed at the time one orders?

Like if you're the 10th set, do you only get the 10%, but if you're set #11 you get the 15%?

I might have to put a stop on these money orders and get a refund and buy them again.

Since everyone will need to do an initial payment of some sort on the GP, and the heads will start shipping around the time it wraps up, everyone will get the same discount.
