Would these be sufficient for a NA 396 with occasional nitrous use.

Question Re: 37 lb/hr Delphi Injectors back in stock!

I am also interested in some new injectors for my NA 396 LT1. Is it possible to have too big of an injector? my FWHP will be between 460-500, and my max RPM will be 6000-6500. I will not have nitrous right away but i may install a small shot later on. What is the difference if you have a wet or dry nitrous system? Would it be to my benifit to purchase 37's now and 42's if i later decide on nitrous? I dont like to spend money twice, but if it will be easier to tune and idle quality would be better, I will go that way then. Would a fuel pressure regulator give you some flexibility?

Thank you,
Aaron

It is possible to have too big an injector but with Siemens 60's or any smaller Delphi disc injector the pulse width can be made low enough and stable enough to maintain a factory type idle & A/F. There is no need to buy twice. Pick an injector which will meet your ultimate FWHP objective and change your tune as you build HP. People who do not have experience and the tools (A/F meter and dyno) to properly tune a PCM may find it more challenging to tune an injector which is much larger than factory especially when it comes to AE / transitional fueling. Steady state fueling is always much easier to calibrate.

The Delphi 42's are by far the most popular size we sell and there are many customers who have dialed them in nicely.

If you require tech support on tuning we recommend buying the disc injectors through a stocking Racetronix dealer listed on our web page.

Dry N2O is harder to tune and requires the injectors to be much larger to support N2O added HP. A wet N2O system is more common and generally easier to tune for the laymen on a FI street driven car with factory PCM.
