Question Yay or Nay??

Hey ive been lookin for a Trans Am and i found one on AutoTrader today and i went down and test drove it. It felt pretty good, but i was wondering what anyone thinks about it. They want $6995 for it. Its a 1994 Black T/A. 90886 miles.

Comments:

STOP LOOKING!!!, Excellent 1994 Pontiac TRANS AM, V8, Auto, power window and Lock, Cruise Control, ALLoy Wheel, Right Color Black, A/C, Am FM CD Player, ABS, Warranty included, REDUCED PRICE WONT LAST LONG!!!

Options Installed:
Anti-Lock Brakes; Air Conditioning; Alloy Wheels; Cruise Control; Power Door Locks; Power Mirrors; Power Windows; Power Steering

So i dont know, its got pretty high miles, but its pretty cheap, so how much maitnence do you think it will need to get it running nicely, and do you think its a good buy?

Thanks,
Chris

Also, its a trans am, but it doesnt have a trans am Spoiler, its got the trans am front bumper, but no spoiler, so does anyone know where and how much i can get a stock Trans Am spoiler????
Thx again....

hey

hey i dont think that 94 had spoilers excet maybe the 20th aniversary, i may be wrong, maybe its a 93. With any car with high miles they can take some maitnance. Some people have tons of probs at 20k, others 60k and some have few probs at 120k. If it is an auto and hasn't been rebuilt then you can look forward to doing that sometime soon. To buy some time put in a tranny cooler. Look at junkyards, because i think the factory spoilers are very expensive. there are two big f-body junkyards someone may have the websites i dont. Ask the owner if they have the service records, and if they do that is good, if they don't they prob dont take good care of the car. Check for intake manifold leak, slipping tranny, turn the ac on full, and turn the steering wheel to check the alternator, and power steering, and ac. Last but not least run car fax. that is the end of this novel.

Alright thanks bro. Yeah my dad and i are prolly gonna go back next weekend and we are gonna take it to our mechanic, and have him take a look at it, then if he says its all good, then we will get a carfax report. But is $6995 a good price?, or what should i be able to talk the place down to?

Mile wist that is pretty darn good when I traded in my 99 Ram Air TA on my 01 Z28 I have 54k on her and that was in 2 years.

In 1994 they had 2 spoilers the (formula spoiler on the TA) and then the optional high level spoiler that was only available on the Trans Am GT package.

One other thing on the spoiler options. You need the entire hatchback area ... glass and all. The upgraded high rise spoiler is not simply bolted onto the stock hatchback from a Formula style low spoiler. It might bolt onto the stock V6 hatchback glass but I don't know that for sure.

Lots of parts to be worn out with that kind of mileage. Tranny, rearend gears, brakes, suspension bushings. headlight and window motors, engine, opti-spark, power seat motors. This is to be expected so just figure that into your decision. Price looks OK

I wouldn't pay that much if I were you-depending on how it looks/drives you could probably find a better deal. I bought my 94 TransAm (pics in sig) in June for $8250 with 48K miles, and great condition. It's also black, has Enkei rims, cloth interior, 6 speed, power everything. Just to show you what's out there for the price range (I saw this on autotrader as well)--just a little more then the car your looking at, and half the miles, looks pretty good too.

Just my opinion though,

Alright thanks guys, well i decided not to get it. There are too many things that it doesnt have that i want, like: cloth seats, no t-tops, formula spoiler, high miles, etc..... im just gonna keep lookin for something with those options, wish me luck......
