Has anyone had any problems with the cops if you have dark window tint? Mine is getting to the point that I want to replace it and I want to do it dark but I dont need any extra attention by getting pulled over for it.

 

I am at 20% still illegal, but never been pulled over. I believe 26% is the legal limit. I work at Sheriffs office they neve say anything. 20% is plenty dark enough and is close enough to talk your way out of a ticket. My back hatch area, however is only 5%, not sure what the limit is on rear.

I was pulled over in my 85 camaro for tint but I was leaving a keg party, had blackouts, all on my third gen.

He gave me a warning, but bitched abotu my blackouts, illegal tint, and my license plate light being out.

 

i have only had my 02 tinted for about a month now but so far no problems. :knockonwood: i have 5% and love it! all my previous f-body's had regular 35% on them. the interior temp differnce is amazing! which is a blessing around here

I have 15% and the legal is (here in Miami) is 20%. Every single car I have ever owned have had 15% just if you get pulled over turn on the light inside and lower the window before the cops shows up.

Ok speaking of window tinting, what is the best place to go to in the Tampa/Clearwater area. I want a good job and am willing to spend a little extra, but not an insane amount of course.

 

I had Orlando PD check the factory tint on the rear windows of my Blazer before. The guy was looking to give me a ticket for something. Of course it was fine. If you want to go darker, that's your decision just be prepared to pay sooner or later.

 

i work at a movie theater and on fri and sat we have two cops doing a shift at the theater for security. I asked one, one night, and he told me that if I must have illegal tint (anything below 20% on the front side windows) all i must do is turn on the lights and roll down the windows b4 the cops gets to my car... all this from the mouth of a police officer.

second, any tint on the back is allowed, any on the front it allowed as long as it doesn't block drivers view AT ALL...
front side windows 20% is the limit. rear side windows any is allowed.
