Where is Central Fl’s largest performance community

I plan to buy a house soon and hope to find one near sufficient performance activity.
I am leaning towards the south side of Orlando because of its proximity to work. Finally having a garage will allow me to get serious about some performance modifications that I have been saving for.

Most importantly, I would like to know where the best speed shops and performance garages (hopefully with a dyno) are located.
I would also like to know which area contains the highest population of car enthusiasts.
Is it the UCF area because of the students, or is it a more affluent area due to the disposable income? There also seems to be considerable import activity in the Kissimmee area.

Thanks everyone, hope to hang out with you soon.

Well, even though I live close to the University in WaterMill I see many individuals my age 26,27(ME),28~32 with Z's... It is not all College Kids though we all were once. I live in a nice area with Many homes for sale. You should check it out. Most are 3 bed rooms 2 baths on a 1/4 acre lots. For example my three bedroom is 1875 square feet. My garage holds my camaro, her explorer, my tools box, two work benches and lawnmower, bike, ect... All inside.

Coming from UCF turn right onto Dean. Take Dean until you come to Lake Georgia. Turn Right onto Lake Georgia. Go until the second Water Mill Cove entrance. Drive around and see all the homes for sale.

Benefits of my neighboor hood:
1. Close to UCF
2. Close to East West
3. Close to Home Depot and Discount and Publix
4. Very secluded, most pizza places never find our area and have to call for directions so only people who live in this area ever drive through it.
5. Quiet
6. Large Lots so your not sitting on your neighbor.
7. Fair Prices Now
8. Just added a new subdivision up the street that starts at 200K
9. Lots of Trees
10. Most homes on small lakes/ponds
11. Homes are built 87 and newer

email kmakb@ocps.net and I can give you more specifics on teh neighbor hood.

i wouldn't move around UCF unless your place of business was around here or you went to UCF. traffic absolutly SUCKS, plus we got more rice than you can shake a stick at. ever see an early model 4 door saturn lowered with a huge top fuel dragster wing, stickers and ugly decals all over, huge fart cannon, custom rims on the rear and doughnuts on the fronts, driving through town like he's racing an F-1 racecar? he lives just down the road from me...

but I'd stay away from UCF.

See I diasagree.... I have not seen any RICE like that... Yes I am close to UCF but is has it's pros to it... Bought my house at 106, had it reappraised at 157 after three years... Not bad... Most of my neighbors are UCF Professors and Siemmens Workers, Adults, Quiet Folks who has put money in their houses. Most people buy in my neighborhood, add a pool and everythign they want and comeout better than building.

best places to live are the suburbs of orlando. in my neighborhood i can leave my doors unlocked and havent had any trouble, even if i happent o leave my camcorder, digital camera and such on the seats.

hop on I-4 or one of the other major roads and you're in orlando in 15-20 minutes, maybe 30 on a bad traffic day.

i'm about 5 minutes from Lamotta, which specializes in Mustangs but does great work on f-bods as well. Other performance shops are within short distance as well.

I live by Sand Lake road & International drive area. If you're looking to rent a home there are a few available next to me .Most have 2 car garages & lawn maintanence is included so you have time to spend with the car and not the lawnmower. Its 1 mile from I- 4 and has tons of food in the area. Its gets crowded with traffic at times but thats all relative to what you're used to. Ocoee is about 12 miles away for Norris's shop and OSW is a 30 mile trip. But again easy access to I-4 and Bee line expwy makes the trip quicker. Also fri-sat night Sonic's is a place for car hangouts which is about 5 mins from me. If you want to buy in this area ..well the prices have gone up alot since I bought in 1986. I couldn't afford my house anymore. Rents are in the $1,200 mth range with 3 beds/2 baths with a pool sometimes.

Oh my god dogboy tell me your not one of the quazibillion Ricers that infest the Sonic's on Saturday night? And tell me your not driving a Camaro down there amongst all the Alteeza's and neon underglow kits.

I run a business in the area and all they do jam traffic, steet race up and down an already packed International drive, and annoy the crap out of every one with their bumble bee "BUZZZZZZZZZ"

Well thats good to hear.

One time I absolutely had to get gas. And for some unknown reason, I went to the Hess right next to the Sonic. Before I knew it I was drowning in a barrage of Giant Wings, Roof Scoops, and fart cannons.

As I was leaving every Ricer there was staring at my 97 30th anniversay Z, and giving their friends that......"yeah, I could take that out" look.
