what do you think about these cars?

http://autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?ca...or=&cardist=24

i came across this on auto trader today. the mileage looks good and its stock so it probably wasn't beat on too bad. it has pretty much what i want in a camaro; black, 6spd, t-tops, all except leather seats i think i might look into this b/c i'm ready for a new car.

i also came across this

http://autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?ca...r=&cardist=178

i would rather have a t/a, but this is getting up there in mileage. i could switch over a lot of my parts to this car; hood and wheels being the most important. the price is higher than i could afford so i would have to try and talk them down. looks like it comes w/ ttII's or something similar which i could sell. no t-tops though, but i could get by w/o them.

any input on either car would be great.

Well, all I can say is that from a visual standpoint, I like the T/A a heck of a lot more. Plus, if you got it, you could sell the wheels to me! (You said you had your own).

I like the first one more, not too sure about the second one though.

The TA is way overpriced. Out of those two, get the Z, no question about it. Yeah, the TA looks better, but 40000 more miles and another $1k is nothing to sneeze at.

I wouldnt pay the price of the first one for that TA. The OTher is pretty nice and as you mention Leather is the onlythign that it lacks.

also if leather is a big thing for you, consider doing an interior swap, I mean its pricey I think like $500-800 depending where you buy the stuff... so it may be worth buying a car and doing leather later...

Might even be able to do aftermarket seats, I have sat in a few and they are nice

anasazi, i'll have to talk to you about what problems to look for and prices b/c i know you just went through all of this selling your old Z and getting your new SS.

i just started looking around so i probably won't jump on this yet b/c i haven't researched buying used cars much. i also need to get my front end repainted so i can get more $ for my car.

between the two cars i'd definitely go for the camaro. i like t/a's better as far as appearance goes, but thats nothing an ultra z hood, 98-up ss spoiler, and black wheels w/ a polished lip can't fix. i'd rather get a car w/ lower miles b/c i drive so many miles to work. i drive 3k miles in under 2 months.

i'd like to go out and buy a car, but in reality i probably won't anytime soon. i would need to get a load from my parents to be able to afford a new car. i'd rather get an ls1, but its impossible to find a good one for under $10k. an lt1 will be sufficient enough for me since i'm upgrading from a 3.4L. switching from a 16.6 sec car to a high 13's - low 14's car will be a big difference to me.

the Z28 is the better buy on paper... but if you like the TA.... see if he will come down on the price a few thousand.

WHEN you buy a used car you will always...ALWAYS have to settle for something.
