What to do in Key West?
What to do in Key West?
Basically going down there Sat and sunday...
First time down in years and first time down there of being old enough to "enjoy myself"
Whats some stuff to do during the day, not too expensive... getting sloppy drunk is a plus. Going down for a wedding, and reception party, open Bar and such.
So no major fun like deep sea fishing... but gonna be around Duvall street for a few hours.
p.s. also any tips on how to get your father to let you take his C5 for the weekend down to the keys(assuming its jsut me and my girlfriend and our other friend rides with some other peopel going down, I will be stopping by my parents place on friday night. Maybe he coudl let me borrow it then switch it up on the way back up.

Re: What to do in Key West?
I was there last Saturday / Sunday. Awsome island. Wish I could afford to live there. Plus, any excuse to go flying!
Take the trolley tour. $20 Lots of cool stuff to learn. Tons of shops on Duval St for anything you want.
Bars to hit: Sloppy Joes, Hoggs Breath, Capt Tony's, and especially Ricks. I could definatley get myself in trouble there! Many stories that could never be told...
Skip the C5. You are going to be walking most of the time, parking sucks, and parking that car on the street is asking for an insurance claim....
Check out www.liveduvalstreet.com for video of the strip.

Re: What to do in Key West?
forget sloppy joes, and hogs breath...tourist trap bars!!
Ricks and the Bear Bottom are the best for entertainment. BB has a dualing piano thing at nite, which is freaking funny as hell. and Ricks has everything. they have a stage with a modern/classic rock band Slang that kicks butt, a decent strip club, a pizza shop, and a hiphop type dance floor upstairs, and a total of 10 bars all in one complex. tip: get there before 11pm and get stamped, then you get in free afterwards
another cool place to hang out is the second floor bar called the Whistle (above the Bull). they have stiff drinks, and a cool balcony over duval to check out the scenery. and the 3rd floor is the "clothing optional" bar called "the garden of eden" which can get hopping at nite (not to much nudity but sometimes)
you've always got the stand by "fat tuesdays"...just 1/2 block from "the bull"
i would definately check out the sunset festival at the end of duval st. sun should be setting around 8:15 or so, and it is a huge gathering with street performers and the like. its at Mallory Square, as you hit duval st on US1, turn right...all the way to the end...you'll see it.

Re: What to do in Key West?
Thanks for the advice guys...
had a balst, we got there saw the normal tourist stuff, did our own tour of the island(me and 3 girls piled in the Camaro), since it was pissing down rain we had tons of fun still because we can have fun in just about any situation.
Later when it let up we hit up a few bars, chilled mainly at the bull for like an hour. Was nice place good drinks we were buzzing really good going to the church(It was right on Duval Street, right across the street from the La concha) Short and sweet ceremony, real laid, back everyone had to where hawaiin shirts and such, lots of people in flip flops, then we had the reception at the La concha, we were there for 5-6 hours, with an open bar. Lots of fun, later went swimming in a pool, then hit up the Bull later at night.
Only part that sucked was we only had a short visit. Beuatiful place and well worth the fun even if you all share 1 room between 5 people at a bed and breakfast.
