This is a VERY tentative plan at this point, but one of the guys at work wants to fly to Key West for the weekend. Aiming for the first weekend in August. Plan based on weather would be leave Daytona at 8a ish on Saturday, land Key West about 10:30. Golf in the am/early pm, adventure the afternoon, and boys night out partying Sat night. Fly back morning on Sunday before weather builds. This is in a 4 seat Cessna. I am an instrument rated pilot. I would have room for about 300 pounds give or take, so 1 normal guy, or 2 skinny ones or girls....

Splitting the plane would be $150-200, split a room in Key West (from about $90 and up depending on where and how many), and a car ($50 or so). Golf is like $100 with a cart. So, not a cheap trip, but a very unique opportunity to visit a cool place, without the 8 hour drive (just did it from Deltona)....

I meant to call you my last trip down and never did. I will this time. Looks like July 31 will be the day. Two of us, looking for another or 2.

The Keys are awesome. If I ever get a flying job, I will aim for at least a connection through Miami and live in the upper Keys. Close to the mainland, but in the islands.
