shootout with stangs????
Re: shootout with stangs????
thats cool.. are you saying to have one custom built for better flowing! would he charge me more hten i can buy one off hte net? and how long would i be without my car? thanks and i still cant find any headers for adecent price!
Re: shootout with stangs????
For flow, and better fitment - each car is different. I don't set his prices, but I can assure you he is very reasonable. Your best bet would to do a Saturday install, and then drive the car over to his shop on Sunday so he can build the Y in a few hours time. Have you checked Summit? IIRC - they have Pacesetter LT's for LT1 cars for $285 uncoated, and $415 coated. I recently got my Pacesetters from TSP for $400 shipped on special. Not sure if they are a sponsor here or not, but try TSP
Re: shootout with stangs????
hey i went to both of them websites and neither of them had pacesetter longtubes,. tsp said they would have them soon, and summit nothing i could find for pacesetter for camaro.
Re: shootout with stangs????
ok i have found some pacesetters, finally. non coated they are 285$ +20$ shipping. for coated they are 410$ and 20$ shipping!are the coated really worth the 120$? let me knwo and i will order them tomorrow morn. and if i order these lt's i will be getting rid of my cats right?what about my o2's? anyting else i need to buy?
Re: shootout with stangs????
hey man the coated are the only way to go. thats what my shorties are..jet hot coated and look real nice to boot..Im pretty sure you would be loosing your cats with this and your O2 sensors would have to be replaced with sims.
not to sure but hope someone can back me up on this.

Re: shootout with stangs????
02 SIMMS are about $80 for the pair. You really don't need them, Jaime w/ the red SS doesn't use them. He just has an SES light on his dash. All that amounts to is that the ECM sets the code saying his rear 02's aren't getting the right reading. It obviously hasn't hurt his performance any, the car went 12.9xx @ 110+ this past January w/ free mods and a cut out - not even a lid!
Pay the extra $120 for coated, I had Jet Hot do the LT's on my 3rd Gen - it was over $300 after shipping them back and forth. You'll need some 02 exstensions for the LT's, they run about $50 for the pair. Jeg's had the best deal on those. As for gaskets... I like stock GM style exhaust manifold gaskets, they work great and don't leak like the paper gaskets they supply with headers.
Start looking around at LT1 sites too... you'll need to read up on removing the AIR system and EGR system if you get race style LT's like I did. It will really help clean up the engine bay.
