Safety

I have been asked this by a concerned parent for their daughter. They need to monitor her Instant Messaging Account. They want to know what she says and to who/whom. Anyone here have any recommendations to get this kid nervous about what mom and dad knows about what she does online..

There's a program called Sentinel that monitors keystrokes for a given user, and I heard it's pretty effective.

The thing is, is that you can't tell the kid that it's installed because then they'll just go to their friends house to do all of their instant messaging, rendering it ineffective.

or the mom can take the power cord with her, and only allow the child to access the computer with the mom in the same room.

damn i'm going to be a good parent some day ...
