Orlando Area Exhaust Shops Suggestions?

The gf's 2002 LW200 Saturn died this afternoon, and it's been diagnosed as having a clogged catalytic converter and a faulty O2 sensor(rear one I'm guessing).

The shop that came to that conclusion quoted her $1300 to fix it with genuine Saturn parts and $600 to do it with aftermarket stuff. I'm pretty sure the old one could be cut out, and a new, universal one could be welded in its place. Problem is, I don't have the tools/skills(at least the welding portion) to do that work, so I'm trying to scope out some places to call for quotes better than $600.

I did a quick search, and it seems that the Performance Muffler Man on Colonial is an option. Anyone else out there I should call besides the standard Midas, Meineke, etc.?

TIA.

I have used performance muffler man on 436 and 50 he is good. I would first go to Discount muffler off Old Winter Garden Rd (just East of Kirkman Rd) they have been around forever and do great work (don't be scared off by the crappy looking shop).

Thanks for the suggestion. I guess I should have specified in the original post that I'm trying to find a shop closer to the area just north of downtown. Just in case it shuts down again as it's being driven to be repaired. Right now, it's sitting at a shop in Lake Mary, and ideally I would like to find an exhaust place close by to minimize drive time.

Performance Muffler on 50 quoted $240 for the install.

Any others?

Don't go to the Muffler Man on Wekiva at 436 - bunch of jackasses - took two 3" pipes to them to cut down 1.25" - they said they weren't sure they could do it at first then said it would take about 2 hours before they could get to it - there wasn't a car in the shop - boneheads!

'94 A Bad Z28 took his to Ice Cold Auto A/C on 50. You know, the one with the "chopper" out front on the stand, kinda across the street from Kanes Furniture. maybe check them out - he had a true dual set up installed by them - https://www.camaroz28.com/forums/sho...=593618&page=3

Thanks, I'll stay away from the Muffler Man on 436. Actually, the guy I spoke with at Performance Muffler also works at that Ice Cold Auto and said the price($240) would be the same there.

I was also trying to track down a shop that would be willing to weld in a direct replacement cat. conv. that I purchased and brought them.

AutoMech & Muffler in Oviedo on Broadway Street is real good.

I took my car there back in 2006 due to an aftermarket y-pipe constantly banging. They fixed it less than an hour, no BS, and the price was reasonable.
