Post ODB-1 scan tool with ABS

does anyone locally have an ODB-1 scan tool that can read ABS diagnostic codes?

my ABS system decided to freak out tonight and if i can't find any basic electrical problems i'd like to be able to scan it... does anyone have this capability? i heard you gotta have a special scan tool and not just a normal PCM scanner but i really have no idea.

I have one that will do it but im afraid it will only work on 93's.

I hate to say this but just take it to the dealer and have them pull the code for you. If the ABS system is really freaking out then just pull the ABS relay under the hood so you can temporarly disable it until its fixed.

yea... i'm going to make sure all my electrical grounds are secure, check the vehicle speed sensors to see if they're gooped up, and check the sensor wire locations and make sure they're not near the spark plug wires. if all this doesn't fix it i think its going to go to get reamed at the dealer this weekend

ok thanks

yesturday i disconnected all ABS connections and reconnected them after i made sure they were clean, then i removed the relay and sanded the contacts till they were shiny, and i sanded the main ground connections on the passenger shock tower till they were all shiny and tightened the battery posts. so far so good. if it acts up again i'll be giving you a call.
