No more Fbody, but as fast ;)
Check out www.zzperformance.com those boys have some seriously quick supercharged 3800s over there. Bottom line the 3800 (all modern iterations) were originally designed for forced induction and were later adapted for n/a that motor can take a hell of a punishment. Now if only I had a forged bottom end in my V6 camaro I'd be pushing some crazy boost levels. Oh well I guess I'll just have to live with low 13s high 12s that turbo V6 camaros generally run.
I was reading at Clubgp.com that at hte SLP day in Englishtown, the nine grand prix's present; the worst ran 13.52. Susposedly it shocked the hell out of the fbody crowd that a four door wagon could do this.
I wonder what happens if you up the boost in an autocross event, would that still keep you in prepared or bump you a classification....
yeah there is lots of stuff you can do, I think someone hit 11s on the stock roots blower(well modfied it) and I think the fastest is a turbo GTP that ran a 10 something...
Pretty pathetic considering the v6 f-body world has only hit an 11.8 and its basically the same motor in a lighter car with a better drag setup.

With all I can do to this car the V6 aftermarket for you and John is just unfair. 200 bucks for 100HP basically not a bad deal imo. Heck for 200 bucks your lucky to score a simple cold air kit. Still there is a huge difference between this and an fbody. If I had a choice both paid for:
2002 Z28 or 2002 GTP I would take the Z hands down, but since the dream is not alive I have this nice car for now.

The GTP has an awful lot of weight right over the drive wheels. Maybe that's how they had better 1/4 mile times.
Changing pullies will actually jump you from "stock" class to "Race" class when autocrossing. But if you don't say anything who will know? Besides, if you're a rookie the added power will probably hurt more than it will help. I wouldn't worry about it.

I think stefan is the fastest pure blower(no other power adder) running GTP internals and I think 9psi? runs near a 13 flat.
Shane(our own local boy) is running the fastest non-juiced 3.8L, he is on stock internals, ported heads, and a turbo, I forgot the specs, maybe he will pipe up, but I think it was pretty low boost.
Shirl is the fastest she is the one that hit the 11.8, I think she was running 9 psi, and a 100shot, stock converter, stock motor, no porting.
Other then that, everyone else running boost is in the 13.9+ area. kind of pathetic considering I got a bone stock not so light fbody to a 15.3, first time out, so 1.5 seconds with a blower, and lots of other mods?
you woudl think the same motor, with a healthy amount of boost, lighter car, and a better setup would at least run in par with gtps, if not faster.
ehhh...... give me a blower, and 2-3 spare trannies and clutches and I will put a v6 in the 12s...

BTW if you do up the boost I would keep a CLOSE watch on the fuel... Actually my first mod would be a A/F guage to see if I was runing rich or lean at any point. Even though your car is stock, I would treat it like a modded car
