No more Fbody, but as fast ;)

Well I bought a Pontiac Grand Prix GTP Supercharged 3800 Series II V6... A little research on the net 14.5 stock is what I should run with this car. A simple pulley swap should have me beating some lt-1's....

Yes I miss my camaro, but it was time for a change. I would have loved to get another, but this car is so much more comfortable, and as fun to drive. I miss the v8 rumble though, but who knows what will happen in 48 months… My dream has always been to restore a 1986 camaro or 1984 corvette. We will see what happens. At least I still bought GM and am faster than you V6 guys…

Anyone have one?

Too bad they are FWD. I have owned 3 4th gen cars and 2 of them were LT1s and I have yet to see one run slower than 14 flat, unless by driver error. Hell my 88 GTA ran 14.2 with minor boltons.

I considered a GTP when I bought my Z, but they dont make the damn things in a convertible yet. If we didnt need a truck to pull our boat we would have gotten one for my wife.

hehe faster then the v6 guys... I'll race you blower boy!

They are nice cars I really looked inot them when I was looking to buy a car. If it was RWD and a manual, and as good of a value as my car was, then I woudl be in one right now

Excellent choice! I've wanted one of those cars for a while, never had the money for it though. What color, year and options did you get? Did you get the heads up display, that's pretty sweet Can't wait to take a ride in it with you How are you feeling anyway?

Today is the first day I can legally drive so I am excited. I drove the new car about 1 block yesterday. I already applied liquid crystal and clay bar.

It is red, all options, leather, heated seats, sunroof, heads up display, Bose 10 speaker setup, and it is SUPERCHARGED….

If I was single I would have bought an LS1, unfortunately now is not the time for one. I think after a year or two I will look for a third gen I can drop a nice 350 in or do my dream a small block 400 in one, but who knows. In a few months I will be a dad (By Summer) so this car worked out better than a Z would and I will still have fun driving it.

Worship the Z forever, never buy foreign and never settle for a limp v6 fbody. The last part is for the slow white pig I still will stop on all day long…

hehehe... you never let up on him

Either way think you will run it at the track?

If so I would like to go up against it. You have 40 more hp, maybe a tid bit more weight(the new car is heavier then the 3.4L) but I have a manual tranny and a better weight transfer setup.

I think it would be a nice matchup

Same here if I wasn't in school, I woudl be supporting a dark grey or Navy Blue 03 Stang Gt w/ 5-speed. I woudl have put a nice X-pipe, and some flows, a good 1.5 in. drop, and the !spoiler mod.

I was really missing the idea of ownign a GT, two weeks ago when my parents were visiting and my dad wanted my mom to get inside a 03, 04 Cobra to see what its like since he is really considering getting one.

He really looked closely at a '03 Cobra, triple black, black with black leather, and black convertable top, 10k miles for like $26k I think it was.

It is the right car for the right time. And being supercharged many options are open. A simple 60 dollar pulley swap nets 3 PSI more boost and almost 40HP...This would give me like 280 not bad for a family wagon….

FEAR ME

Mike you would love it… Comfortable and sporty… A lot different than a camaro though.

I fit my daughter in all of my cars and she is now almost 5. I found that denying myself the things I enjoy leads to me not really being happy. I have owned all 2 seaters or f-bodies with the exception of the Landrover and I really regreted that.

Trust me an infant fits with plenty of room to spare in the rear of a Camaro. Hell my 5 year old fits fine too. And she will have to fit for at least 4 more years too, til its paid off and I can buy a bigger car and keep this one. Make the wife drive the family truckster.

Ya, but this is a nice car… My buddy is to blame, but he has found a ton of things to do to this car. I have not even looked and he floods my email with links and so on. He even brought over a magazine on setting up the suspension to handle twice as good as stock.

Yes I will miss it, but this is my car now so I must work with it..

Brian, I think I saw you driving around Oviedo today, I was standing out side Auto Tuner (the Supra shop). Yours is red, right?

Nice cars. Seen several up here running low 13's with what seemed like minimal mods for what they sounded and appeared to have done to them. Simple stuff, like pulley, no left headlight, etc netting very respectable times. Surprising many fbodies at events like SLP day and stuff in Englishtown.

Ya, for 68 bucks I can add 40HP with a simple press on pulley.

Overall it is nice, but the sound of the V8 will always be GOD to my ears.

Things I like
1. COMFORT LEVEL
2. QUIET
3. NEW

Things I want improved
1. BRAKES... Yes the brakes are weak IMO
2. Front end roll/sway is way to soft, or not as firm.

For a family sports sedan it is perfect, but it is no sports car. I am eager if you can SCCA this car. Would be fun.
