FYI - All the info you need can be found at:
www.martinsportscarclub.com

Here is a map:
http://www.gainesvilleraceway.com/map.html

Feel free to PM me if you want to meet up somewhere.

Keep in mind guys, ALL are welcome but please be aware that this is a very high speed event and newbies should really use caution on the track. Don't go out there thinking that you will kick butt because you have a faster car than everybody else. We recomend you take it a little easy your first time out to find the limits of the car. In Tavares, our usual site, this isn't as much of a problem since the speeds rarely hit 60 MPH. But in Gainesville faster cars can see speeds of 100 MPH depending on the layout of the track.

I'm not trying to discourage anybody from attending by any means. I just want you to know what to expect. We have several novice instructers that will teach you the techniques to go fast and the atmosphere is mostly centered on having fun NOT competition. It's at least 51:49 (fun:competition)

Be sure that all of your lugnuts are present and your battery is secured properly (not rigged). That's about the only things that will definately keep your car from passing tech.

Again, if anyone needs to follow somebody just ask. There are several of us going and somebody will surely let you follow along.

Man, I'd love to come up and see you guys. $45 is way too steep for me, though. I just had to buy tires. If you end up doing something afterwards like dinner or drinks, I'd be game. It would be nice to see all my old friends before I move to Texas in May.

Let me know if you feel like meeting up. My cell # is (352) 208-5827.

Either way, have fun you guys.

Yeah we had to up the price just a bit due to increases in our expenses there. Mostly the food. GIR would have charged us tons of money to be able to buy or sell food there. But for some reason they were fine with us catering food in and not charging for it.
Just come to watch then. I'd love to see you again before you leave too.

My new Kumho V710's have been recalled for tread separation issues. As a result the SCCA has banned these tires from their events and Martin is following their lead. I won't be allowed to run them on Saturday. It's back to my well worn Victoracers for this one, I hope they hold up.

Kumho is making good on this and I have a new set of Ecsta V700's on the way for free but they won't be here until Monday or Tuesday. They will also be supplying a free set of redesigned 710's when they are released in 60 to 90 days. It's a sweet deal but it sucks for this weekend.

Sheesh, got chuck saying his clutch is iffy, now Jeff doesn't have his new kuhmos...

You guys really need to quit making up excuses beforehand so when I pull top time in an f-body you can say ooo my tires or oo my clutch.

Jsut face it guys I will be the fastest f-body out there...

You guys may have more power in the straight aways but you will not be able to hang with me in the turns with my 28mm front 15mm rear sway bar setup...

J/k guys sorry to hear all the problems, my car is actually running pretty nice minus a few sporadic clutch problems, even taking it to the track tonight

Are there any plans for a caravan to Gainesville that morning?

Chuck's going to be out for blood so I had to start making excuses ahead of time. Of course I can always fall back on the less horsepower and A4 vs. M6 excuses I've used in the past.

Jim has run into a snag on his motor install so it doesn't look like he will make it this time. I was looking forward to seeing that thing run with a bigger cam and 11.5:1 compression.

Yeah me too... thing used to be a beast, and now its crazier!

I am hoping... to do pretty well in my class... My car is too stock, and I am too inexpereinced to be doing wonderful in my class... but jsut pretty much did a tune up car is running like a top and I will have a few hp things gong on my car I have yet to run at an autocross... I shoudl be able to take that Integras the Yenisch's run, and usually win with in the straight aways...

hopefully I will stomp the other cars in the straight aways, and be able to hold my own in the corners... Thats my plans for this event... not too many cars that are up with me hp wise(well in my class at least)

I really do wish I had LSD though... makes the corners so much easier...

Humm, If everyone else keeps having problems I might actually stand a chance of being competative...

Nahh, probably not Even worn out your Victoracers will be much faster than my street tires... Maybe I should do a rain dance ahead of time
