Mini-Prix April 10th Gainesville Test Track anyone going?

I am really aiming to go out to this event, only been to one before and it was a blast!

Worth every cent, and some nice cars show up and REALLY get to show there power and balance.

Saturday, April 10, Event #4 "Mini-Prix"
Gainesville Raceway, Gainesville, Florida
MEALS WILL BE PROVIDED ON LOCATION!!!
Event host: MSCC Executive Board
Event fee: $30.00 for MSCC Members and $45.00 for non-Members (this includes a meal ticket for each person in your party that signs the waiver)

I think I will be there?

Anyone else?

I assume the MSCC regulars, but looking for some non-regulars...

BTW I noticed a trans am running a better time then a SS last month in GTP in this month's Pit Patter

Oh man...I want to go, but I can't make it that day.

I went to the one they had back in November I believe, and let me tell you, it was an absolute blast. Besides, if I go to this one I would get my *** handed to me since I won the novice class last time out. I automatically would be put in the same class as all the other sick F-bodys out there.

For those of you who are thinking about doing it...DO IT!!!

Here's a pic of my car from the last one they had up there.
Check out the body roll...lol. http://www.pbase.com/image/22873945

Yeah I'm still trying to figure out how he beat me by so much. It should have at least been closer. I would protest due to inaccurate timing anomolies but I wasn't there when he ran the faster times. I had to leave early and made all of my runs in the first round. I always told him I would personally deliver the trophy for his first win against me but then I wasn't even there. Too bad.

I'll probably be at the miniprix. If nothing better comes up. AS IF!!!

In case you didn't notice... free drinks... free food... and best of all, safe, fast driving without fear of prosecution.

I kinda hope its piping hot and alot of heat in the track after that 40 degree day, I prefer the heat driving... My tires seem to love the heat, and hate the cold, and I will be running in G-prepared so I need every little bit of edge I can get on my stock suspension.

I am hoping, my power edge on the straights will help me out a bit against the other's in my class...

Actually chuck this month Jim Mueller might be someone to worry about as well, he got some power.

I'm not worried about Jim. He's in GTR now. I hope he kicks Glenn's butt good! We'll see if Glenn's GT has any legs or just a good suspension. As far as riding up together, that's fine with me. We'd have to leave very early though. But you're gonna have to do that anyway if you don't get a hotel in Gainesville. I'm still not sure exactly what I will be doing as far as lodging the night before. I invited my dad to come out and watch. If he says he will, I'll probably stay at his place almost 2 hours northwest of Gainesville. Either way I can always meet up with anybody who wants to at I-75 so you don't get lost finding the track.

I thought it was a slipping clutch and now timing anomolies. Come on just admit that I beat you fair and square. We'll see how my lowly LT1 A4 does in Gainesville against you higher horsepower M6 guys soon enough.

Oh and BTW I ran with the SCCA on March 21st and won ESP. I was number nine overall with a 37.9 with Glen running a 38.8, in a different class. Maybe I finally figured out how to drive this thing.

My clutch definately is slipping. At least when I shift hard anyway. On the way home from Sonic's last night I had an LT1 Vette meet up with me at the light from Aloma to Tuskawilla. I was stopped at the light and he got there right after it turned green. I never even saw him till we were half way through the turn and he passed me on the outside, sounding sweet too. I knew it was coming... When we got straightened out we both nailed the gas at the same time and I was corner to corner on his back bumper all the way through 3rd gear. I know, I know. Street racing... I never do it. But it was late and we were the only ones around and ... (no excuse) Anyway, after I let him go at the top of 3rd gear I was smelling that funny "hot" smell for about 30 seconds. I didn't roast the clutch but I did heat it up. I think I need to sell the 88 Camaro and a bunch of Commercial kitchen equipment here pretty soon so I can get that Spec3.

Glenn should have a different motor in by the event so we'll see. It's the motor out of his old drag car so he'll be up on horsepower. Of course Jim will be sporting a new bottom end with higher compression and a different cam.

It sounds like it's time for a new clutch. I'm surprised you're having so much trouble selling your third gen, that thing sounds awesome.

I guess I'm just too honest and tell people all the little things that are wrong with it. Hey, it's a 16 year old Frankenstein for gosh sakes. Great project car, iffy daily driver. I just don't want to have somebody come back a month later bitching about something that broke. Enemies... I don't need.

I should be there too. Someone has to bring up the rear in GTP

Not sure what I am doing as far as the trip up. If anyone is looking for someone to share a hotel room the night before let me know.

Also its worth mentioning that MSCC now has digital displays so you can see your times immediately after each run. We tried them out last month and they're great! Instant gratification (or disappointment), no more waiting for the times to be posted.
