Looking to install T-Tops

Hello,

I own a 99 Camaro without T-Tops and I am interested in getting them installed. I found the t-tops for about $650 (not sure if this is a good price or not). First, how much am I looking to pay for the installation (approx) and does anyone know of/recommend a place in the Tampa-bay area to perform this task?

Thanks in advance!

Tony

Re: Looking to install T-Tops

yeah talk to 5litereater, I am hoping to look to him for help with mine.

As for $650... is taht from tacreationsusa.com? They quoted me $600.

I have been piecing together a kit for a little while. And in the end I think I will be doing much better then $650.

here is what I have so far and what I have spent.

You really sure you want to do that?
Other than they leak, rattle like hell, the two big holes they make will weaken the overall structure of the car and produce excessive wind buffeting noise with the T's on.

I don't really see how the structure would be altered too much seeing that the framing exists for all of the 4th gen camaros and all you're cutting away is some sheet metal, although I could be wrong. I have a friend with a 99 camaro purchased day one and never had any leaking problems, rattle noise, wind noise. Although they were factory installed.

Re: Looking to install T-Tops

Fbodfather himself told me that by installing t-tops, it does not affect the structural integrity of the vehicle in any way. All 4th gens are made the same way, with the bar for the t-tops used as a main structural component.

(Heck, even Whistler took the bar out and made his car a Targa, subframes made it work, and he has people sitting on his windshield to prove how strong it is.)

I will give any shout for Mark, 5LITEREATER. Great guy! I have seen his work and it is pretty darn good.
