inspection question

What type of inspection is needed when regestering a car in Florida? And how often do you need to get the car inspected? Ill probably be moving to Florida within 5 years, so by that time i should have a decent amount of stuff done my to my car. The Maryland inpection is really strict, and i belive its going to be getting stirct(like wheels/tires have to be stock size, etc...), but the car only needs to be inspected when the title changes hands.

Thanks!

We don't have inspections down here. You won't have to worry about it.

I think over in the Hillsborough/Pinellas area, there is a small emissions test that cars have to pass.

This is the Tampa/Clearwater area.

Muhahahaha! no emissions.

We used to have emissions back in like 98, I did take the cars in once awhile waaaay back when I first got my license.

But no emmissions testing, don't have it in south flrodia, ft. lauderdale/Miami area, don't have it in Central Florida Orlando area and not in the Tampa area either(my girlfriend's car is registered in Pinellas county) and no emissions testing since back in the day.

I heard it was like less then 3% of the cars testd failed and it was considered acceptable compared to the cost of doing emissions.

Basically anything goes, CAT is a federal emissions law, but hard to find out if its gutted, and most 100% legit shops will not install illegal, or get rid of emssions stuff stock on a car.

I did get a cutout installed in fornt of my CAT no questions asked, its for off road use

I hung out with a girl and helped her pick up a trans am which she later got rid of from what I saw they had a decent amount, but it seemed pretty decent but I think this was more of the St. Augustine area.

Just keep in mind that the laws regarding inspections and the things that were inspected are still on the books. If a cop wants, and I've seen it happen, he can write you for anything that doesnt pass his inspection. Like tires, brakes, exhaust, emmisions, glass, seat belts, etc.
My sister in law lives in Jacksonville. Neptune Beach to be exact.
She hates it.

Yeha I a shop will nto gut a CAT or run no cat on a shop since its illegal but your car will msot likely never get caught.

I have recievved tickets for loud exhaust, the law technically says non factory or factory replacement is illegal even quiet flowmasters but the cop has to be a **** to stop you or if your car is outragous like my open y-pipe at the times

Most cops are too busy pulling over the rice burners to care about a nice sounding v8.
