is it illegal to set someone up to get pulled over?

scenario:

last night at the riceboy meets on 50 the cops showed up. when the place started to clear out, two cops walked over to the exit and stood there. we saw this and some people started yelling to the ricers who were leaving to "SPIN 'EM!!", and we got quite a few people pulled over

was this illegal? when some cops walked over near us we stopped doing it because we wern't sure if it was illegal or not ...

Hey just because you tell someone to do something doesn't mean that they have to do it. Everyone is responsible for their own actions whether they had someone encouraging them to do it or not. Had to have been a good laugh though.

I would take that to court. If you don't do what the officer tells you, you are breaking the law. You shoudl know better, but so should they....

Call Morgan Colling and Gilbert. They love cops....

we didn't get in trouble for yelling at the ricers to spin 'em, but we wern't going to push our luck when the cops walked over.

just would like to know for when this happens next week, should we stop when the cops walk over or can we keep yelling it

Its not illegal but that doesn't mean a cop can't give you a ticket for your cutout, tint, or anything else you whoever was with you was doing...

I try to keep a low profile unless I am by myslef.

Actually there are a bunch of new laws on the books that allow cops to give you a ticket for just about anything they feel like. I know someone who received a ticket in Winter Park for an 'unsafe start' simply because he accelerated too fast from a light in his Camaro, no speeding & not even enough enough to spin the wheels. He was also told this could be up to a four point ticket 'depending on his insurance company.' Talk about bogus.

Unsafe start, unlawful show of HP or something like that and of course, street racing... They're all up to officer discretion. And none of them are really defined anywhere. Gotta love it.

Exactly and lets face it, about 90% of our cars have one thing or another that is illegal even before that.

Its illegal to modify the exhaust from stock or stock replacement. Illegal to mess with the CAT, illegal to have clear corners, blackouts, neon, certain darkness tint, certain drag radials are illegal. List goes on and on, I have 2 things that any cop could just walk up and give me a ticket for, rather not **** them off more then I have to.

Why would you yell it anyways? The cops are there to make sure everything is ok and when you get some punk kids yelling that it is just irritating to them. a couple of my buddys are cops and they do not put up with any of that s***. And know im not telling you what to do im just saying show a little respect torwards police officers

don't forget license plate frames, they're technically illegal too -- and many car dealerships will put them on every vehicle sold.

Don't you just love the system? There are so many nonsensical laws that we've created a society where everyone is a criminal. In most places around the country it's illegal to eat ice cream on a sidwalk, especially on Sundays. However, you can drive the wrong way down a one way street in downtown Orlando as long as you have a lantern on the front of your vehicle.

There are a bunch of old traffic laws still on the books for the city of Orlando. I think most of them go back to horse and carriage days when the biggest concern was someone's car spooking a horse or perhaps even a horse-head on collision with another horse.
