How likely are UCF cops to show for court?

I got a ticket a couple weeks ago on campus for going 37 in a 25 and running a stop sign. Just wondering if you think they will show up if I try to fight one or both of them. If I can take the driving class for one of them I probably will, then maybe fight the running a stop sign and if the cop shows just ask to take the driving class for that ticket as well. Any suggestions?

Considering they have nothing to do, more likely than any other cop.

UCF LAWYER!!!!

Get one as soon as possible, free, and they know how to fight UCF tickets. All they need is for you to put $50 into an account, jsut a safety thing, sometimes the lawyer needs to take pictures of the area, and its too big a pain in the but to get college kids to pay on time, so they jsut take $50 and return what they don't use and they usually don't use any of it.

A UCF lawyer got me out of wreckless driving and illegal exhaust. (going 35 on greek row, cahnged lanes without signal, and had an open y-pipe, got wreckless driving and illegal exhaust)

My lawyer went to 2 of my court dates I had to go on the 4th (he could not make it) so I had to go to the third and the cop wasn't there.

noticed lately they're really cracking down on the local population, bigtime speed traps on the back way through UCF from research park to lockwood.

You people do know that you can just keep driving, and they can't fallow off of UCF property, right? Only thing is, they might remember your car, lol.

You might be able to voluntarily elect to go to class on the stop sign. Then take the speeding ticket to court and ask for class on that one. The court ordered class doesn't count toward any 'totals'. That way you would avoid all points being assigned. You'll probably get at least 3 points if you fight them both together as the judge/hearing officer isn't going to let you clear two tickets with just one class. Check with the UCF lawyers though. You might be able to do better with them.

Here comes the flame attractant!

On a side note. It's about time they start cracking down on you guys out there at UCF! Sorry. But every time I drive out there everybody's going 10-15 over the limit weaving in and out of traffic driving like fools. Mostly I see the imports doing it because their cars are smaller and can squeeze in and out easier. But yeah. There are a bunch of you college kids that drive like a$$holes. No offense.

If you want to push your cars to the limit, find a sanctioned event and thrash the heck out of your car there. Drag race. Autocross. There are plenty of legal ways to drive your heart out. Look into them. Urban streets are meant for transportation only and are too congested to do anything otherwise.

Dammn I'm getting old.

not necessarilly true, i've seen UCF cops have someone pulled over in the burger king on university blvd...

they are not rent-a-cops, they're either orlando or orange county deputies

I think you should fight the stop sign one, because you can always say you stopped at it.

For the other one, the judge will mosy likely ask why you were going 37 in a 25, and then what are you going to say?

I'd get the lawyer like MustangEater said, it can't hurt.

I woke up the bike was moved into the middle of the street... Ya and get this it had a ticket.. I went down to protest it and won, but I am like the stering wheel was locked, somone moved it into the middle of the street and left it laying down.. Do you think I would do that to my own bike... Should have bit ch slapped them up and down greek row...

Thanks for the help/advice everyone-I probably will go talk to a UCF lawyer-I already have one helping me try to get something off my record from a couple years ago-might as well get my moneys worth.
