Talking Getting Married!!!

I know this may come as a shock to most of you but I'm now officially engaged. Most of you haven't met her but her name is Autumn and I'm head over heals in love. I've known her for 6 years and she's always been there for me no matter what. I must say she is truely wonderful. The date is set for Feb 14th 2004 and arrangements are already being made as I type this. I'll post a picture of us as soon as my film gets developed and sent out to me. I was going to wait longer to let everyone know but I'm just so happy I can't contain myself.

Allen

No, we are no longer on speaking terms.

Tyler, thanks bro. Yeah, everything seems to be just falling into place and working out for once .

Well so far almost everyone has been really supportive. Her parents and my Mom have been absolutely wonderful. Her mom is all gung ho about the wedding planning while my Mom is being a very positive voice. My Dad and Step-mom however totally freaked out. They don't realize my history with Autumn and how far back this really goes. They think this is something I haven't given any thought to. Yes I will admit it's a little fast but my situation mandates it. Everything goes fast in the Military and they can't realize my situation because they're not in it. Oh well, they'll get over it. I just hope it's within the next year.

When you know for sure it's right, why wait?

Good for you man.

My wife and I got engaged pretty quick too. Plus I'm still pretty sure she's the right one for me too. The most convincing factor is the fact that she puts up with me being me.

Dude....I have to say 2 things here, one bad and one good.

First thing is....WTF!? You've only been with her in a boyfriend/girlfriend way for what...2-4 weeks? I mean seriously you may have a huge long past but you haven't been super intimate/really close that entire time....deciding to marry someone takes a lot of time and all that! I mean (and I hate to even use this as an example) look how you and Janice turned out? (Yep...that sounded as bad as I thought it would )

Aside from that...either way I'm happy for ya, just please do me a favor and spend some serious "thought-time" about the pros and cons of all this to yourself to make sure you're making the right choice

PS: and Autumn did seem like a really nice girl.

Mike, there is a lot more than the last 2-4 weeks. I won't go into details because without explaining it all (which would take pages to type) and although without a full explaination it might sound kinda bad, I don't have the time so you'll just have to trust me that it's not. Let's just say that Autumn and I have been talking for quite some time and had wanted to be together for a very long time. I now don't even see why I was so upset when Janice broke up with me because over the last year or so I have tried to break up with her numerous times but couldn't because I didn't want to hurt her (you remember how self-destructive she was). Anyway, I do appreciate your concern, I know you're out for my well-being. I know it's a little rushed because we've only been going out for a couple months (not weeks) but we both have wanted this for a very long time and things got serious quick. We're having the wedding next year partially to make sure of this but I don't think it'll be a problem. Trust me, I see a lot worse everyday. People get married here after only knowing each other for 2 weeks (it's happened to 3 people I know already!) so trust me it's not near as bad as it could be . I could have just eloped and moved her out here this month but we wanted to do it as close to "the right way" as possible.
