it used to be that you could pick up free smoke detectors and carbon dioxide (or monoxide? don't remember) detectors at local fire departments. anyone know if they still do this?

Speaking of which on the whole fire issue... anyone know where to get a cheap like $10-15 CO2 mini extinguisher, to keep in your car?

 

yes, actually

this house only has one fire detector, and no CO detectors however we have gas appliances

 

ohh I would be worried about that too... I only trust the gas from my butt and in my gas tank of my car....

 

yes, especially since blonde roommate lives up to every stereotypical blonde chick trait ...

for instance, she aparently forgot or just didn't catch that she left a burner on overnight, not lit of course. if we had power and something like the A/C or fridge kicked on, the house would have exploded.

 

all fire depts give out smoke detectors if i remember correctly. im not sure about Co2 though.

 

BTW - It is monoxide. If they had detectors for dioxide, your breath would set it off. lol I know a few people who's breath might actually set off one of the other sometimes.
