Deal of the century on a modded v6 f-body...

No not mine, mine is too pretty to sell

local guy that KNOWS HIS STUFF. Awesome car seen it in person and at the track its is a great car.

I know its not everyone's thing but if you are into racing a v6 Firebird this is the way to go... BUY THIS CAR.

He is a cool guy and not a punk kid who beats a car. I'd trust this car over a used car from the dealer.

Forgot exactly where but he is in the Central FL Orlando area.

I’m selling my car. This is one of the most technically advanced V6 F-bodies around. I will try to sell it for a week or two. If no takers, I will de-mod it and trade it in. Here are the basics.

2001 Pontiac Firebird Hardtop

50,000 miles

4 - Bridgestone Potenza Radials P245/50R16 with 15,000 miles

The car has had full synthetic oil in the Engine, Transmission, and Rear End since 15,000. The oil has been changed every 3,000 miles. The car has been garage kept and waxed every 6 months. The car is in excellent condition with only minor scratches.

You can hear the car here (it is the last one under 3.8 )

I will be getting a new Spec Stage 3 Clutch to replace the current Stage 3 clutch which can not handle the 379 ft*lbs of torque.

The only problem with the car is the syncronizer on 2nd gear is not working properly. It is not noticeable in daily driving (I still drive it to and from work every day). It is only a problem at the track. At very high RPMs it will not go into 2nd gear.

This car is capable running in the 12s. All it needs is a transmission rebuild. You can get a kit for about $300, have a shop do it for $850, or have it rebuilt to racing specs for $1600. I have more info on this for those interested.

Now the bottom line.

I want $8000 for the car.

I know I can trade it in for about $7000 and sell the parts for $2500 but I just do not want to go through the trouble of de-modding the car. Someone can get a 12 second daily drive for less then $10,000.

Eric,

not wanting to buy but a TTT and a Q?

what's it prolly good for in the 1/4 without the NOS?
in other words, as a DD, how hard will it pull around town?

i know some the guys on here may pooh-pooh the V6, but our 2000 V6 was a runner, if it had a posi, it would have been great. i'd like that V6 mpg now

wonder how many guys are running 4:10's on a V6?

Re: Deal of the century on a modded v6 f-body...

The car put down 231 RWHP N/A and has run mid 14s in the quarter (on street tires and no suspension mods) and that was with a nitrous tune. There is more N/A power there. The car pulls very hard N/A. It will spin the street tires all the way through 1st gear.

The real kick is you can not even use the nitrous on the street tires. When the nitrous hits at 3500 rpms, you get an immediate 150 rwtq jump that is so awsome (379 rwtq @ 3500 rpms). It just spins the tires right to redline in 1st or 2nd and often 3rd. I have to put the Mickey Thompsons on to test the nitrous.

Re: Deal of the century on a modded v6 f-body...

sweet. welcome to the forum.

thats more than most TPI V8's

if you don't have any better sense than to spin your tires all the way thru first and second, you've found the right place to talk horsepower

luck selling it. my truck is getting 16mpg...new jeep gets 13mpg....uuuggg

Not sure what he runs but I think he is in the mid to low 14s.. as is off the street.

As for peopel with 4.10s on v6s... There is a guy with lots of weight reduction, suspension, few motor mods but all bolt on only and he has run a 13.7. Thats N/A internally stock motor.

I think a few all out guys are low 13s all motor.
