concealed weapons permits
concealed weapons permits
i hit 21 fairly soon and i'm interested in getting my weapons permit.
whats the steps needed to get this? how much did it cost?
i think there is a class you have to take and a fee, but a friend told me the fee can be different (cheaper) depending upon where you go?

it's $48 and a military ID in georgia
there's a rumor that the GA state constitution (sp?) states that any member of the US Military can carry a weapon. i have not been able to find factual proof of that, so if anyone knows....lmk?
(thread hi-jack...here goes....
on a side note, a buddy just shacked up with his girl, and she had a COW because he has a pistol (she don't know it a DE 50 Cal.)
she wanted to break up over him having a gun, she thinks you should crawl out the window & run away.
she says even if they want to beat him, steal thier stuff, and rape her, they should be able to get away without any violence.
how sheltered can she be?

thats one of those "it should happen this way until it happens to me" kind of people...
Its Cake, the class is between $35-$50. Take one where they do your prints and take your picture at the class to save you some time. Send in the packet you'll get in the class to the DACS Division of Liscensing in Tallahassee with a Cashiers check for $150 (I think thats the cost now). And in three months you'll get the permit in the mail that is valid for 5 years. Rediculously easy.
It's easy like it should be. Under the constitution we are guarunteed the right to bear arms. The permit is just to make sure no criminals are carrying weapons (in theory). NY was a royal PIA. I was the fastest anyone ever heard of at 5 months. My buddy took 9 months to get his....
