Mystery man ¡§J¡¨ installs a rear end in his car. He needs new metal brake lines, not the rubber section for the rear disks. He measures the length and goes to AutoZone to buy new metal hose that is already flared. He buys way longer than measured. To reduce the length he wraps the metal tubing, yes wraps, and bends it circular around the rear axel. Let¡¦s say six wraps drivers side, 3-4 passenger side.
Factory sits above the axel tube and is a set length with minimum bends on this metal tubing. Mystery man ¡§J¡¨ now has his around his rear axel going up and down with each bump in the road. Will mystery man¡¦s way cause brake failure and eventually kill him or someone else because he can not affectively stop? Also, is it necessary to have the metal rear brakes lines a specific length or can mystery man double that length and still have correct pressure ect¡K

does person "J" have the hard lines from his old rear axle, I am 90% sure they are exactly the same as from axle to axle, but the rubber hoses might be different sizes, but those were needed anyways...
The brake ines I think woudl work but the hting that worries me is uneven length, I could be wrong but wouldn't one end have to be the same as the other?
And if "J" runs into other problems there are 2 lt1 f-bodies being parted out locally, if he needs any parts(assuming Brett is willing to kinda part out the rear)

"J" claim he bought a 21'' new line for the Drivers side. We measured like 3.5 inches though or something like that.
I think "j" scored his rotors already, but ya he should get ahold of this guys ASAP. Scored as in marred them up...

Also for safety did J" hook his e-brake back up? If he doesn't have the right cables I rigged my old ones up for like $5 worth of stuff form home depot, so they woudl work, but not recoil(had to climb under car to undo it) with my stock drum e-brakes cable...

Well if it works initially I think it woudl work over all...
as I sit and think, it should be fine even with un-equal lenght tubes...
but I am no engineer, but I assume brake fluid is jsut like water, uncompresable but doesn't evaporate like water.

Length will not matter. Most factory lines in cars I have worked on are not the same length.
Just make sure that there is nothing that will hit or rub against the lines, which could break them. Also make sure they aren't kinked too bad when they were bent.. Make sure the flares on the lines are of the right type.
