Lightbulb BMP on Saturday

Anyone here going to Bradenton Motorsports Park this Saturday?

I'll be there at the test and tune and there's also an Eckler's Corvette Challenge taking place. I went to the last one and a lot of them run in the test and tune.

Hopefully it'll be cool out and some of you can make it out there for some F-Body representation.

Re: BMP on Saturday

Well, the test and tuned wasn't that great.

When I got there I was the only car that wasn't a Corvette, lol. I raced this dude in a bone stock Protege twice before I got to run a 1st gen. Camaro, a mean Chevelle that beat me and then a Z06 two times driven by some chick who ran a 14.xxx and a 17.xxx in it.

Got a new personal best of 13.463@104.63 by getting a new best 60' of 2.137. So that means my new Rumbler and y-pipe didn't do sh*t for performance.

What were the weather conditions when you ran your previous best vs. this time? By all means, the TSP cat back should be freer flowing than your old set up. What was the difference in 60 ft. times? About the same I assume?

Take all of that into consideration, and check your state of tune as well. i.e. - plugs, wires, fuel filter, presence of oil in the intake, etc.

Re: BMP on Saturday

When I ran the 13.5xx@105.xx it was about 80 degrees out and I did it with a best 60' of 2.2xx. For each 2.1xx 60' yesterday I left the line at just over 1,000 RPM and my timing was better than it was with my 2.2. I also have brand new tires on my car and didn't want to heat them up before I ran or spin them that much.

The car does feel a little stronger with the Rumbler, but it could be psychological. I do need a spark plug and wire change, that will come before my next run. Why would there be oil in the intake?

Re: BMP on Saturday

It's a common thing with LS1's because of the PCV system. Remove your bellows and open the TB so you can inspect it. Check the backside of the TB blade too, that will give you a clue as to how it's doing as well.

Check your fuel filter too, at 38K miles, mine was pretty dirty.
