i am in Jupiter, about 20 miles from PBIR- the old Moroso

I seldom look in the Florida section but often visit the tech sections and the classified. Life is good. Stay strong!

252,xxx now. I just had to replace the a/c compressor and the belt tensioner. Other than that, the rest of the motor hasn't been touched. Same thing goes for the clutch and suspension. Once I put in the boneyard T-5 and replaced that one caliper, I've driven the crap out of that car. It is beginning to burn off a little oil on a cold startup if it sits for a few days. Probably time to replace the valve seals. I'm going to see just how many miles I can drive that motor before the new TTA motor gets dropped in .

It's nice to see someone taking good care of a lt1 but at the same time driving the snot out of it. No garage queens for this guy.

Wow thats crazy. If I remember right Dealer put in a new compressor at liek 85k, and I put a tensionor in somewhere in the early 100,000 miles.

the GM 60* v6 is a good motor, when I was car shopping one thing that had my eye on my car is its a 3.5L in block came motor. Based off the 60* v6 family.

Glad it worked out for you, I almost feel sad for the fate my 2000 car had.

I think you're right, I have the receipts when your dad had the A/C replaced. The tensioner started to make a bit of noise at about 248K, so I replaced that. I just remembered that I did replace the starter at 220K miles. Even though I have an engine waiting, I'm going to see just how many miles this will go. It corners like a monster with the big rubber and big sway bars, about the only thing it lacks is the grunt of a v8...... for now.

I just joined the site. I'm primarily a mustang guy but have also owned lots of camaros, Firebirds, etc. Our current F-bodies are a 1980 SE Trans Am and I just bought a 1995 Formula Firebird 6-speed. This is my first 4th gen car and my first LT-1 car so I joined this site to learn more about what makes these cars tick. I want to paint the formula before I start driving it, so it's not on the road yet. Hopefully it will be my semi-daily driver in a month or two. I hang out at the wednesday night cruise-in at the sonic burger joint on route 60 in Valrico and also at the "Strawberry classic" show in Plant city on the 3rd saturday of every month.
