On campus?

that would be cool.

I have my eye on that machine shop in the engineering building. I wonder if I brought in my upper intake Ic ould find some ways to modify it with whatever tools are in there without anyone really knowing?

Like I sadi I am for it and have some free time.

Hey Guys,

I'm a financial officer of a club at UCF. SGA will not pay for trips taken, they cover expenses for tangibles, I've been to the finance meetings and they're very strict about this. Before each year, the club has to to fill out information and activities they want funding for, and if SGA approves it, then you'll get funding. I have the entire rulebook for this, but I'm too lazy to get it now.

Didn't UCF have a GM PowerClub, or are they no longer active? I remember seeing their site on UCF's search engine.

Here's an idea for a meeting and to make your presence known on campus:

Meet like 2 mornings per month for breakfast, then go to the same garage and park your cars in a line (backed in) next to one another where they'll be seen.

I'm still looking for a used Z28 or SS of good quality, and when I find it, I'd like to offer my help in starting a club.

Later.

Just thought I'd add my name to the list of UCF Fbods. I am an EE major and have seen a few Fbods over there too. Anybody here seen/own a 98-02 white Z28 with a cowl induction hood?? Nice car! A UCF Fbod meet sounds like fun....especially the sound of V8 thunder in a parking garage.

it sounds like you know what your talking about, and how to get money out of them.

what club are you the financial officer for?

i really wish i could take a more active role in starting the club, but right now i have no time... but i can be a member no problem

actually before we do anything in the parking garages, i need to fix my altinator ... i took it for a spin to see wtf was going on with my wierd idle and i noticed my altinator was making even more noise than i thought it was ... damn bearings are going out, anyone know how to fix them without just getting a new rebuilt alt?

WHOA!! Parking more then one car next to each other on campus!?!?!?

If we did do somehting like this, we could leave notes on our cars, telling people interested to come to this board, maybe we could recruit some people that aren't online.

If the bearings are bad, it's time for a new alternator. I think it would be physically possible to replace them, (which basically would be rebuilding it) but I've never taken one apart before or haven't a clue where you could get parts. A remanufactured one should be cheap and an easy solution. It takes about 5 mins to pull the alternator off.

Yeah MustangEater82 I heard it was on the campus someplace. Supposedly there's a SAE shop someplace. I havent seen the dyno or anything, but was told it exists. Thats all I know.

There is NO WAY in hell we'll get funding this year. They have already given away their $200,000 and something stockpile of cash. You can check out how they spent it in the latest issue of the school paper. MANY people are angry about how the money was alotted i.e. 30,000 to Greek organizations. But that's another story...

Anyhow, funding is really unimportant. I think it would just be cool to hang out and (try to)park together sometime. It would also be nice to meet more car people my age who aren't total tools. Anyone smell the keg party????? I know a few of my friends are down with that...

There used to be a place in Longwood on 427 just across from Milwee Middle School that rebuilt starters and alternaters. They always did a good job too. You might check with them.

Hey Eric - Are there any parking lots on campus that might be suitable for one of our <ahem> Martin Sports Car Club auto gatherings? This club idea would be a super way to get our foot in the door there.

I was thinking the same thing along time ago, and thinkign it again. Problem is there is always a car in a UCF parking lot, I think the education lot would be pretty good but there are soem light poles but not too many. The thing is I could see showing up on a SUnday, and seeing one car parked in the middle of the lot. I guess we could put cones around it

Guys, lets go ahead and arrange some sort of get-together for now and leave the "officialness" of the club till later. I like the breakfast idea since that IS the only time during the light of day that we could all park together. Who would actually be willing to meet EARLY in the morning for a "cruise-in" to on campus and a group parking? I have a class @ 7:30a.m. and there is hardly anyone on the 2nd floor+ of the garages but it fills quickly after that. If you want to get our cars noticed for interest in the club this would be the time to do it. Who's a diehard that will get up this early to do it? Oh, as for a name how about " UCF-TAZ" (Trans-Ams and Z28s)? I'd hate to disclude the v6ers, but its just a name.....or would we rather broaden ourselves to other GMs or even, gulp, some other american muscle? Perhaps if we made it an official club we could rent out some spots to reserve (not very likely).

Well... I think there should be SOME sort of qualifications somewhat... NO rice and junk. Probably start out with like just F-bodies and work from there, see how much interest it brings and how big of a crowd comes.

But IF needed to expand or gain interest, I think possibly other GM's and NON ghetto american stuff, "could" be allowed if they qualify. NO 4 banger lowrider pickups and crap. I know a friend of mine (UCF student)is building a V8 S10 Blazer with 425HP N/A + 150HP shot of nitrous. It will be a daily driver, and completed by the end of the year. (plenty of F-body parts on it though..hehe). I know he might be interested in hanging out once the truck is done.

Although my classes start @ 10 on tues and thurs and @ 1 on MWF, an early morning get together might be a cool idea. BUT... it might be hard for some college students though...ya know.

Just some stuff to consider.

I'd be up for mass parking.

Can we think of a parkig spot where alot of people would notice all the cars?

I was also thinking would we allow GM or even Stangs?

Call it American Iron? if we allowed stangs

maybe have all GM cars.

Whatever we do I think a Monday would be themost convient for me. But I am game for any day mon-fri.

Just give me warning, My car need a good washing!

I'd be up for a little gathering. I have classes at 8:30 and I usually get up a 7:00. Just give warning on the date and where and I'll show up.
