ChrisFL: Were you driving around the parking garage by the dorms on Friday around 10:30. I saw a new black SS convertible driving around there at that time. If that wasn't you, then I guess there's another black SS convertible around school. If that was you, I was the one in the black '86 Z28 driving the opposite way.

Bad86, what engineering clubs are you in? I'm in the SAE, so I was just wondering if you were a member too. I've been inactive for the last year, but still paid the dues. Okay guys, email me a head count of who would be interested in a club, along w/ contact info. Also Friday Sept. 6th I've already arranged a get-together of a few f-bods in the shopping center @ Lake Underhill and Chickasaw. Hop over to the www.cffb.net information forum for details and directions. This would be a good time to lay out a plan.

I have seen a guy drive around in one like that before.
Also jsut htought of another field trip Dyno runs, maybe we can get the school to help pay for that.

using the $1k - $2k for OSW and/or dyno run field trips sounds like an awesome idea

I think anasazi has a good idea there. I'm up for something like that. We pay UCF enough money, they ought to "give" us some back for a club or whatever. A car club idea, group or something similar would be cool.
I'm out at UCF 5 days a week. Class everyday. I have a silver 95 Z28 with 97+ silver 5 spoke rims. I think I've seen some of your cars around campus.

LT1Brutus: Not sure that you would exactly call them clubs. More like honor societies. I'm a member of Tau Beta Pi and Chi Epsilon. I think I might join ASCE and I've been thinking about looking at SAE. Anyway, I'm definately interested in a club. I'll email you with all my information.

Well guys if you didn't know I am crusiing the filthy Medium quaser blue v6, you should either hear my exhasut, or transmission grinding in reverse.

Either way... Money or no money, think maybe we can talk UCF inot letting us use somehting like the VAB lot, maybe a garage for car shows, and we cann connect it with CFFB, and sort of bring back the Waterford lakes deal?

Another F-body driving UCF student here. I would definately be interested in joining some type of club or get together. Also, I have somewhat of a perfunctory connection with on-campus leaders and clubs because i'm an RA (knight's krossing). So, perhaps we can get something rolling...
Back to the original topic: I too saw the infamous gathering of two TAs and an SS. I spotted them in the garage across from the gym.

i asked my friend who went to the UCF club funding meeting for the computer game club and this is what he told me:
need 10 people to be considered a club.
need at least 1 teacher to sponsor you in order to get funding from SGA.
SGA will most likely NOT pay for dyno runs, but would possibly pay for a field trip to OSW, including POSSIBLY paying for "wear and tare" for the trip out there and back... but not the tare on the car for actual racing. they pay something like a set amount per mile you drive out and back. SGA provides UP TO 1000 bucks 2x a year for an event of some sort. to get more than 1000 bucks you gotta write a bill and provide it to the senate or something like that, a big annoying ordeal.
if this club actually formed, UCF would most likely provide the space for a car show of some sort.
i think its probably too late this semister to form a club and actually get funding, but i don't think its too late to just form the club. we don't need a teacher to become a club just to get funding.
this is what he told me over lunch today at wackadoo's. beyond this, i don't know much else.
now we just need someone with some spare time to actually find out the details and start the club.

Also...I heard that the SAE shop had a rear wheel dyno somewhere... I don't know for sure, but this is what I was told. Can anyone shed some light on this?
