Manual Fan Switch

Does anyone have DETAILED instructions on how to do this on an OBD-I car? All I've found are very short instructions with no detail, and a diagram that makes no damn sense to me.

Can someone please help me out here?

My fans won't even come on w/ the a/c on...could it be the motors, or maybe the waterpump is dead? Fuse is fine...

Edit: I'd order the SLP kit, but I don't have $90 (which is what it is after shipping) available to me right now.

if the fans aren't working with the AC on...than something is not right...

first thing to do is check out the motors...jsut run a "hot" lead down to the plug and see if they turn on...

Hot = positive?

Care to explain how I'd do that?

Yes, I'm an idiot...

what i have is a set of "mini jumper cables" for checking things like fans and accessories.

just a couple feet of wire (14 ga) i think, and some alligator clips on one end and some normal "probes" on the other. this way if i need to check something like a fan motor, just clip a wire to the battery, and one to the the frame, unplug the motor and touch the two probe ends to the leads in the plug on the motor...

just make sure you have a good ground (clipped to teh frame) and be carefull of crossing the "probes" unless you like sparks...

with thes wires you can check fan motors, lights, relays, starters and stuff like that by bypassing the car's switches...helps tell if the motor is bad or if there is a problem with power getting to the motor ...ie...switch or fuse

does that make sense?

and change that SN....you obviously aren't stupid if you have enough sense to ask questions...
