Question Idle drop...

When I change my car from Park to Drive or Reverse, the idel drops from 900 rpm to 450 rpm for about 2 seconds and then returns to normal. It also does this when I come to a stop light. What is causing this and how can I fix it? Thanks,

Kyle

Exclamation

Mine was doing that too.. But it was because my PCM was a POS. lol

It was also not wanting to run on it's own when I fired it up.. I'd have to pedal it and get driving while keeping the revs up by myself. At a light, I'd have to go to neutral and keep the rpm up.

And I was having charging problems too.

Mine drives fine, although I haven't gotten on it too much yet. I want to make sure everything is working fine before I start running it WOT. It only seems to do this when I come to a stop or am changing gears from Park to Drive or Reverse.

Have you had any programming done to the car?

Yes, by Bryan at PCMforless. I don't have any way of scanning what's going on though.

Check your IAC...also, if you've been tinkering with the intake elbow, make sure the bellows is still stuck into the bottom of the elbow.

How do you check the IAC. I know it is on the TB but don't know exactly where. Also, how do you verify it is working. If it needs cleaning, how? Thanks,

Kyle
